Got an alert on my phone today of photos taken on this day over past years. Up popped a pic taken 10 years ago when I bought my Fazer. Still going like a train, MOT due on Wednesday, then hopefully another season full of fun and frolics.
Nothing much planned until Le Mans 24 hour in April, which is always a good ride off the beaten track.

Hello I decided to sell my Yamaha fzs1000 2006 , in blue with 30406 miles full service history mot until 26/10/2026 condition is very good it was a one owner bike before I purchased it. Chain and sprocket was changed and 28500 miles it has a health gear indicator and heat Oxford grips it comes with hel brake hoses/lines ebc brake pads and a Ivan kit all new and unused ready to be fitted. I live near Llanelli/wales I wanted £2200 that includes everything stated in the add. I’m having issues posting photo not sure what I’m doing wrong. Bike is now sold.

I’ve owned this Fazer since 2014 but since 2019 has been used as a second bike and has been SORN’d for the majority of that time and little used. Has always been garaged until I moved house last year and has been sitting since under a cover. Despite the mileage, it always ran well and have done a few European trips on it and never let me down. 
 
For the last MoT in September 2024 it had a new Nitron shock and a new battery. It only had one minor advisory at last MoT. Good tyres/chain + sprockets. Loads of history.
 
The bike is mechanically good, reasonable cosmetic condition - has a dent in the tank. Needs a new tacho cable and steering lock doesn’t work.
 
I was planning on getting it MoT’d to sell but started it for the first time in 6 months (flat battery) and its running rough hence why I’m selling it as a non runner. Need to sell as I’m moving house again soon.

Hello, quick question I have is this. I thought the later fazer fzs1000 
, ie 2005 bikes came with the black engine. Some I have seen have the silver engine, confused.

Just getting a 2002 Fazer 1000 back on the road on the road, have been unable to get it to run right, the bike was accident damaged and ran well when I bought it before I stripped it to rebuild. The engine has had a full service and valve clearances done, I`ve fitted an Ivan carb kit watch all the tutorials reset carb floats. The exup and original headers were damage in the accident so I spoke to Ivan and bought a used 4-2-1 header pipe setup eleminating the exup which fell within Ivans recommendation of intermediary pipe length. fitted the healtec for the exup removal changed plugs to iridium, the bike is dificult to start and sounds like it has a miss fire and sometimes just cuts out, I put a set of vacuum gauges on the bike to see if there was any obvious discrepancies all it showed was a slight imbalance across all 4 cylinders. any help would be greatly appreciated Gary

Changed to headstock bearings on my 2014 Fazer 800 as they had a definite 'detent' in the straight ahead position, and was very surprised to find that they were balls and not taper rollers.

Have changed them to taper rollers with a kit from a bearing place in Aldershot.

I would expect balls on a smaller bike, but not on something this size. I believe the frame is similar to the Fazer thou, do they have balls as well?

I had a FZS600 previously and I'm sure it was taper rollers as standard on that.

Hi Guys.
I have a problem with my 2014 Fazer 800.

It has suddenly developed a stuttering misfire at low revs with small throttle openings. I commute daily, so this is a lot of my journey in this state.

Whack the throttle open at higher revs and it goes like a scalded cat, clears out completely but back to lower revs and smaller throttle opening, it comes back.

Run a bottle of injector cleaner through it, made no difference

Serviced 5000 miles ago with new plugs, checked them again and gaps had opened up quite a bit. Replaced with new Iridiums, and initially was OK, test ride of 2-3miles was fine.

Bike was off the road over Christmas in a dry garage when I changed the plugs, test ride was in the dry as well. Bike was under a cover, but it rained heavily overnight before my commute. Not sure if this is connected but I thought I'd add for completeness.

Just read about an ECU reset procedure so will try that.

Bike has 38000 miles on it, and as far as I know has never had the shims checked, it is booked in for this next week. 
Also I tried to buy a fuel filter but Yamaha doesn't list one as it's part of the pump. Didn't know if the plethora of aftermarket ones could be trusted or even if they would fit this rarer bike.

My bar ends are scuffed, anyone sitting on one or two unmarked originals or good copies?

My front right indicator is similarly scuffed, any unmarked indicators out there?
