  Help! Clutch problem
Posted by: shellbell81 - 22-06-25, 03:05 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I am new here… bought a very clean 2001 Fazer but it’s developed a problem!

When in gear the chain is snatching. It’s not sprockets or chain. I took the clutch cover off to change the plates and I have scoring on my outer basket. Anyone with any ideas? I figure it’s probably bearing related? I can move the outer basket a tiny bit by

R6 USD Forks yes or no for FZS600?
Posted by: returning rider - 20-06-25, 11:27 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Sorry if this been covered to death I did search but go so many conflicting answers thought bets to ask outright?

I have a 2001 Fazer 600, was going to fit YSS Emulators linear springs etc.

Been offered a set of forks with upper and lower triple clamps from 2008 model R6.

My question is can i fit these to the fazer and what will i need can i reuse the fazer wheel for example?

the speedo sensor is in the front wheel take it no way to make this work with the r6 forks?

its missing the radial calipers so have to factor that int costs as well, just seeing if this is  cash put or an easy enough job?

anyone done this and have breakdown of what I need and how to do it please?

thanks

The bike had been standing for 12 months with fuel in tank with an additive, she did not fire up changed fuel started after a time, but will not idle only if you keep choke on revs, ok any suggestions to my situation thanks.

2004 Fazer 1000 front end noise
Posted by: Graham - 15-06-25, 10:15 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (16)

I have a 2004 Fazer 1000, bought a year ago. I have a "road noise" emanating up through the front forks/fairing area. Not quite a whirring and not a rattle, but possibly a rotation related sound.
Everything checks out ok, wheel bearings, forks etc. I don't think it's brakes as its still there with a light finger full of brake lever. The Previous owner had looked after it very well and I continue to do the same, but have some concern about this noise (Admittedly I am quite paranoid about odd noises being an air cooled RD owner.)
Does anyone else hear this noise on theirs.? It may be normal noise collecting and transmitting through the opening of the fairing/fork area (first bike I've owned with any sort of fairing). As I've mentioned before it goes well, brakes well and goes round corners well..
Thanks

Just replaced the swingarm bearings.  Put it back together then realised I forgot to put the dust caps on . Lol. Are they really important or can I leave them off. Thanks

Music Cosmetic Upgrade fzs600
Posted by: shieldr - 14-06-25, 12:55 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

My old fazer is in state cosmetically and I’m not sure where to start. Photos attached.

I guess scraping and sanding the engine then repainting is an option but I am afraid I would make a complete pig’s ear of it.

I would welcome any ideas to spruce up the appearance of my bike which is otherwise mechanically sound, apart from the fact that it doesn’t idle well but I plan on arranging a carb refurb for that.

Thanks

Richard

  The Great Mirror Debate
Posted by: Ned Jough - 13-06-25, 09:46 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Ok, I have read lots of old threads regarding mirrors. I have a perfectly good set of original mirrors on my 1998 boxeye without a scratch on them. Problem is it’s driving me nuts just seeing my right elbow. Oddly, the near side is not an issue. Is the general consensus it’s well worth fitting the later Foxeye or Fazer 1000 mirrors.? It seems the jury may still be out but I’m happy to source and pay for used OEM mirrors if it’s going to make a substantial improvement. Don’t want to waste £50.00 if it makes little difference. Thanks.

  Sargent Seat Gen 1
Posted by: Capt - 13-06-25, 08:19 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

After the sale of the old girl got a few good parts available.

Foam is firmer than the standard seat but not harsh like the Corbin, this is as new condition, no issues.

Would prefer to meet up rather than postage but will if needed I’m located West Lancs UK.

£300.
