Rear brake cleanup
#1
As I have the back wheel off for a new tyre I have given the back brake a well overdue clean up.
It passed its MOT only last week so it works fine despite the look of it.
I first thought that the pads were badly rusted but it seems like paper on the back but I suspect it's paint.
Before and after pad clean up.

And the before and after caliper
After a clean up I pumped them out a little and put some red rubber grease on and pushed them back in a little. Had to use a clamp to get them to go in.

The reason they got left is that during COVID I brought a complete rebuild kit, pistons, seals O ring for the split caliper and hel braided hoses but have never got around to fitting it all.
But before I fit new pads I will need to put new pistons in as the corrosion will probably damage the seals when I push them in to make room.
