  F’ing cyclists!!
Posted by: NitramA - 26-06-24, 11:42 AM - Forum: General - Replies (19)

To preface this, I’m now a very much slower rider than I used to be. I tend to stick to speed limits and allow sufficient space to stop or take evasive action as and when necessary.
I’ve hurt myself enough times to know it hurts.

So…Just back from a gentle ride in country. As part of my circuit I go down some narrow roads. They’re sufficient for two cars to pass if you’re careful. Today, however I came round a blind corner and found a group of 5 or so cyclists filling the entire road. One of them was so far over onto my side of the road she was in the gutter! As I said I travel at a speed that I can take action and stopped OK. They looked shocked when I unleashed a few choice words.

Later on the same road two herberts decided it was Ok for them to fill the entire road by cycling two abreast and just weren’t moving even slightly out the way.
On a bike I’m just about as “vulnerable “ as them so why do I have to jump in the hedge to miss them and why don’t they accept as least some of the responsibility for their own safety?
Rant over but it boils my blood!

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking the forum for some months and just now stumbled upon this thread. Still have not introduced myself. I am a proud owner of a 2000 FZS600 and I like it a lot. it is my first bike and I am not planning on selling it any time soon. Here it is:

  FZ1 new owner thoughts.
Posted by: Scotty_vr - 23-06-24, 07:50 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

My new ride: The Yamaha FZ1 1000cc.  Well, have now owned the Yamaha FZ1 for a few days now and am simply knocked out; It's So Good!  That incredible rush of power over 5K, so intoxicating! The way it corners with such reassurance and presence it commands when parked up.  Having ridden sports bikes for years (Suzuki GSXR1000 K6, 750 K5 & Honda CBR600) I tired of the neck, wrist and back aches, knowing an upright was the answer but something that would still connect me to that sporty heritage I had accustomed to. The Yamaha FZ1 answered all my needs! Of course the transition took a few days,  ie;- longer wheelbase, different trail and more reciprocating mass all made the bike turn in slower and understeer, but after a few days I adapted to this new riding style delighting in the upright comfy ride position!  My negatives would be the "numb bum" from the hard seat and the slightly high 32.1" seat height for my instep 29" legs, lol.  Other than that, well done to Yamaha for a Brilliant bike that ticks all the right boxes, and even now looks just as modern as anything out there!

Posted by: eddie1310 - 23-06-24, 07:22 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Not been on this forum in a while but I'm now moving away from my fz1 and thought I'd also post it here
It's a 2008 red fz1 with 23000 miles on it
Arrow can
Conti attack 4 tyres with lots of life left
It's a nice clean bike
I'm selling as I now want to try out a supermoto bike.

The bike is just north of Glasgow
