28mm fat bars on my Gen 1
Posted by: stevierst - 27-01-25, 07:20 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

So after much measuring, wondering and wrist aching I decided to fit a set of fat bars.
Not because there was anything wrong with the 758's I fitted, but my wrists just don't get on with being so cranked back. I also had a BMW S1000XR last year, and that had wider and straighter bars that I never had any wrist ache with. (just an aching wallet ?)

The bars are WRP America WD-AM001, and some cheapo fat bar clamps off ebay.

Yes it had gone dark just as I was finishing up. ?

  What's it worth?
Posted by: t140 - 20-01-25, 02:34 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Hi looking for the value of an 07 plate FZ6 SA, it belonged to my brothers partners father who died about a year and a half ago and they are just getting round to emptying his lock up, the mot has expired and it has done approximately 36000 miles I haven't seen it in person just the photos he sent me the battery is flat but it was running when it was last parked up. I will get it running and then I will be selling it on their behalf.

Tongue Like a bad penny
Posted by: meirion - 01-01-25, 05:16 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

It's only taken me about 22 years to get back on a Fazer 1000. In a previous life I was known as Fazey or Fazerman. The site has got a lot swankier than it used to be when I was doing it as a hobby to all hours of the morning. Little did I know then how popular it would become  Big Grin. Anyway, I'm back on a 2005 thou like I sold way back.
It's nice to be back. Any of the "old" crowd still knocking about?  Tongue

  hyperpro vs Ohlins
Posted by: The_Hawk - 25-12-24, 07:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Mary Christmas ? to everyone.!

Im thinking of purchasing front springs for my fzs 600 '03.
In my country where I live the price difference between the two is 40 euros the hyperpro more expensive,
not big deal tho.
Which one of these two is your suggestion and the reason why please so I can have a deeper knowledge of the difference between them.
My driving style is mostly solo in the city and a second person for 300~ km small trips.

  Spark plug gap
Posted by: returning rider - 24-12-24, 01:43 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

My son was over and wanted to tinker with the Fazer so took the chance while carbs are off to do a few other tasks, change fuel filter PITA! Air filter no issue and spark plugs.

They came out OK a couple were tight one was only finger tight.

Son went to fit plugs i asked did he gap them? he said nah they are pre gapped and and look the same as what came out.

Explained that is not always the case, as the gap was tiny (0.2mm) compared to manual (0.7 - 0.8mm) so reset the gaps.

Fitted no problems asked him to bring the old plugs to we have a look, he was right they were gapped at 0.2mm and black like it had been running rich.

Anyone else come across this before previous owner had it serviced each year so he claimed, the air filter was actually reasonably clean tbf.

beginning to wonder how this old girl ran at all now carbs bunged up, plug gaps wrong. leaking exhaust and dirty fuel, they are certainly tolerant !
