I decided to fit a chain oiler but wasn't prepared to part with the sort of money Scott and the likes wanted.
I designed by own and the cost was less than £20.
It comprises of a small brake fluid reservoir (mounted inside the fairing), a fuel tap and a primer bulb fitted to a piece of angular aluminium. This was then mounted on the horn bolt. The pipes were fitted using plastic sourced from a busted old top box I cut up for the project.
I'm using 15w40 engine oil at the moment and a couple of pushes of the primer bulb is more than adequate to lubricate the chain.
I might tidy up some of the fittings when I find the time.

The most notable thing is the 3rd party shock with dial adjustable preload.

looking at getting the suspension updated
front forks to be stripped and serviced, new spring and re-valved ect,
rear shock has a few options
BMW s1000rr shock or new YSS shock with spring to match my weight but not sure what these units are like
what option would you choose?


if front forks come back cheaper to do than i ve put away i'll go for new nitron shock

Has anyone got a photograph of the top fairing without the infills fitted of the fazer fzs 2002 or 2003 ? could do with seeing what brackets are required as i believe the brackets changed  for those 2 years.Cheers

Does uneven brake pad wear indicate an issue with my wheel?


Long time no hear! It's been a few years since I was last on here...


I took my bike in to the Yammy stealer for a puncture repair (turns out it was just the valves), when I set off I immediately noticed a rubbing sound from the front, took it back and they said it was the front wheel bearing.


I've just checked for play and the wheel is solid. So I took the brake calipers off (they were a bit sticky), and the front left(facing the bike) has almost worn out the inside pad. The right side pads are pretty even, if slightly more worn on the inside.


But it's a bit odd to have just one pad worn out - does that indicate some other issue?


And does anyone recommend some replacement pads?

I am looking for an exup valve for my mates fzs 1000. His is bent... Cheers.

Finally managed to log in after seeing the sticky!


Well two weeks ago I had me 2012 800 dropped off as my new commuting bike. I travel about 100 miles a day round trip to central London and since the end of lockdown the traffic has gone mental so it was time to travel by bike again! I part exed my Husaberg 650 to a private trader and he kindly delivered my new bike for me.


After two weeks, the bike is lovely to ride and exactly right for what I wanted. Costs a tenner a day to run and it’s pretty comfortable. Unfortunately on the commute last night it died as I was parking up. Pretty sure it’s the stator. So it’s getting picked up from my house tonight and will have it’s big service slightly early while it’s there.


Have been riding for a while and had some different bikes over the years. Yamaha diversion, Suzuki GSR 750 and Gsxr 600, Husaberg 650 and currently still own my Harley sportster nightster 1200. Hopefully the Fazer will be back on the road by the end of the week and won’t cost an absolute fortune to get there!!

Gnasher and I have already chatted at length about this, but I am curious to hear if any other Gen2 owners have have the same issue I am seeing or any other 2nd gear related issues. So here is the history on this -

Riding

• If I change gears gently, roughly a 1/3 of the time it will go into the neutral instead of 2nd
  
• If I make a conscious effort to firmly engage 2nd gear, I can feel the foot lever notch twice (so into neutral and then into second)
  
• If I give it some welly away from the lights, so far I have found it goes into second no problem (I assume because I am being far less gentle with the foot lever).
  

• Gear lever rubber – This is in good condition, with little to no wear
  
• Gear lever linkage - There is no slack in the gear lever, it is correctly adjusted for my foot/boot.
  
• Clutch lever stack -  It appeared to be correctly adjusted and the span adjustment set for my hand size.
  
• Rear drive chain  - It is correctly adjusted.
  
• Dirt/Old engine oil - The bike has had a recent oil and filter change.
  

• Today I moved the lever down one spline on the the gear change shaft, so that its over adjusted and a little bit too low to deliberately give me more upward movement. I also checked and re-adjusted the clutch lever so it was giving me atleast 3mm on full left/right lock. Then spent a few hours riding around.
  
• What I found was it 'mostly' removed the 'going into neutral instead of second'. It did not remove the 'knotch' that I was getting every few gear changes. But then on the way home doing 20mph behind a car, I snicked from 1st into second and sure enough, went into fucking neutral, and it was going so well.
  

Hi, my Fazer was left for 8 weeks. I took out the battery before. Charged it before putting it back but when I tried to start it it only makes clicking noise. I pushed it and it starts this way but now way it is starting with a button.
Could anyone help with this?
