  Hi everyone ?
Posted by: Grizz_Lacey - 01-07-21, 07:19 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

Hi everyone. Got my hands on a 2005 FZS1000 couple of weeks ago. She's spent the last 6 years off the road and unfortunately 3 living outside in a Bush so it's safe to say she needs some TLC.
Not planning on a full restoration but will be getting the wheels and a few other bits powder coated, probably change most of the bolts as their pretty orange. EXUP wasn't seized thankfully but can't say the same for the rotor bolts.
Would appreciate any tips on improving her, I've changed the bars already and it has an upgraded rear shock but this is my first sports bike so rather than struggle please throw suggestions.

03 1000 cut out and wont start
Posted by: FazThou - 01-07-21, 07:14 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (16)

Hey newbie here  Big Grin
I took my fazer 1000 out the other morning and it only went about 20 yards and cut out, nothing when i pushed the starter button and the meta alarm fob wouldnt do anything
Battery is fine in the fob and there is power getting to the alarm unit.
Read alot of threads about the alarms so decided to remove it.
Was a bit of a faff but managed to remove all the black wires from the alarm, then its time to rejoin the wires  :rolleyes
Managed to get the starter to work but wouldn't fire up.
After a bit of playing and wiring diagram searching i worked out where the other wires should go (hope its correct lol )
But now the starter circuit cutoff relay is playing up as there is no live for the starter at the relay now, also have no neutral light showing.
I have ordered a replacement relay so awaiting arrival to fit and test (will keep you informed)
If i have missed something then any help will be welcomed

cheers lads and lasses

After alot of debating, I'm advertising for sale my Gen 1 Yamaha Fazer FZS600 (T - 1999).
The bike starts and rides perfectly, with no issues. Last MOT was August 2020, with full Service. Has only been ridden occasionally since.

Does anyone have a mirror fitting plate (or two) they can sell me.
I set about repairing my fairing and found one of them missing which could explain the damage to the fairing in the first place.

  Loose front sprocket nut...
Posted by: Fazero - 28-06-21, 01:30 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (29)

Hey there,
just wanna share with you the slight heart attack I got when I wanted to lube up the clutch actuation mechanism and found my front sprocket nut flopping around. It was hold on only by the washer.
For a brief second I saw myself tearing the engine apart 2 weeks before a big trip.
Luckily after some inspection there is no visible damage to the threads. Ordered the new nut and washer, some loctite and hopefully this will never happen again.
But still a little bad feeling to ride around with that issue back in my mind.

  2003 fazer 1000 no spark
Posted by: Fazerdai - 27-06-21, 06:13 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (19)

Hi everyone
Had my 2002 Fazer 1000 for 11years now & no problems at all.

Recently I bought another fazer 1000 project as it was a non runner & cheap.
It’s been standing for at least 12 months (inside) & I don’t know if the previous owner has had it running.
So the first job I did was to remove and clean the carbs before I tried to start it.

The first thing I noticed when trying to start it was that there was no spark! :rolleyes
Did the usual checks & as I’ve got my other working Fazer I’ve systematically swapped the coils, regulator/rectifier, cdi/ignition module etc
There’s no alarm fitted, it turns over but no spark.

I’ve now got the engine cover off to access the ignition pickup, grateful if someone could tell me how to test it
( I have a multimeter) ?

If it’s not that, beginning to wonder if there’s a break in the wiring loom :'(
or if anyone’s got any suggestions,I’d be grateful for their input.
Cheers

Wanted: Front fairing & generator cover for FZS 1000 (Gen 1)

Hello everybody,
I haven't come to see you here on the forum for a long time. Is everything okay? I hope so.
Guys, I have a drama in progress, my beautiful 2005 FZS1000 LavaRed has slipped and, as usual in these cases, the windshield has broken, I'm talking about the fairing not the plexiglass.  >:
I am looking for the original spare part, do anyone has a shop to report to me (I would like to buy the new original spare part) ?
I am also looking for the alternator side casing (the color of the engine is black). Can you help me ?
Thank you in advance
