Anyone who's in to EWC, might be interested to know that Spa returns to the fixture list next year, the date being June 4-5. It's already marked on my calendar. :thumbup

2007 FZ1 Flywheel Rotor looking for recommendations
Posted by: Chris 50+ - 17-10-21, 10:21 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (22)

Hi all, recently got back into the Fazer game with a pretty tidy 2007 FZ1 with 19k on the ODO.
It's a lovely bike, but I must admit I didn't really understand about the potential for rotor failure before I purchased it...

Now fully ready up so I have now followed up
I've checked the history and with the vendor (neither of which could help) and ultimately pulled the cover to find (predictably on this MY) I have got the original rotor not the later one, though it does at least look to be in good condition.
So next step, I don't want to have a potential handgrenade in the motor so I need to replace it and I don't want to pay the ridiculous amount quoted for an original part (I think Fowlups want nearly £800).
I note the recommendation of Motoelectrical above, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the rotors advertised on Amazon;
e.g.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B091...21AM&psc=1

Any thoughts or advice gratefully accepted

  Another "newbie"
Posted by: Chris 50+ - 17-10-21, 10:03 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

Hi all
Not really a newbie, just a long time previous lurker
I had a Blue '52 plate Fazer from January 2003 to about 2014 when I (foolishly) traded it for a Suzuki VStrom.

My office then moved from a position right by the motorway to across town, so this was followed by a few years on a commuter scooter (XMax 300).
But now I've been classified as a 'hybrid worker' so no sooner said that done and I'm back with a red 2007 FZ1, slightly modified (Akro can, tail tidy).

Previous to the Fazer...
I have had Triumph Sprint 955, Bandit GSF1200, CBR600, GPz 750, Bandit GS1200, GPZ500, Z650, GPz550 plus miscellaneous smaller bikes.

  Separating ethonol seems another panic
Posted by: midden - 10-10-21, 01:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

https://youtu.be/7VwxRVATbOQ

Just watched this clip as a matter of interest and the possibilty of reusing the ethonol to reduce financial  waste.

When it came to siphoning off and then adding fuel boosters I got to wondering if the people who are likely to go to all this effort  were previously accepting of E5 in their lawnmowers and the extra 5% has caused a panic or whether they previously always always bought super unleaded which I presume co trained no ethonol.

Either way  factoring the 10% loss of fuel in with the cost of fuel booster would it not be more economical to siphon or stick with the now super unleaded E5.
