Thanks for the add. I have a fazer 1000 gen1 it's pretty well sorted, just trying to find a bit more history on it. Anyone recognise it. Think he was known as bik3rdude or something?

Yep that's my old FZS, I recognise the spot lights and some of the marks on the bike. The first image is when I bought it, and the second was just before I sold it. Loved that bike, was stupid fast. Only reason I sold it was because I wanted something newer and because in part ULEZ.

That topbox looks a wee bit overloaded though, I am fairly sure it would make the front end skittish on the motorway. Anyway what part of the UK are you in, I'm down south just off the M25. I'm around if you have any questions or need any help.

And looking at your pic again, the ignition cover on the r/h side looks like it need some attention. When I had the bike I have tried... to find replacement engine cover/s, but either they were -

• silver instead of black.
  
• right colour but over priced (there is a place in germany that does pattern replacement cover, but pricy, and then you have customs charges on top).
  
• outside the UK (so customs charges).
  
• poor condition (for repainting) & overpriced.
  
• Just not available, as in no clutch cover
  

But that said I have found a clutch cover (£35) and ignition cover (£25) both in poor condition but priced accordingly. which you could then get soda/vapour blasted and then repainted.

BTW box was fine, managed 2 up from doncaster to Peterborough to the mcn weekend. Where I lived in comfort because I took so much shite ?
