So, I was planning on getting out on the bike today to enjoy the last of the warm weather and take a pic of the bike next to a signal box to complete the current FOC-U Bike Picture Challenge, but unfortunately I didn't tank up when I came back from surfing in Bristol a few days ago.
Now I have a near-empty tank and I'm not going to sit in a queue with a bunch of morons selfishly panic buying petrol because "well, I don't need it right now, but if I don't fill up now, everyone else will have taken it all..." and creating their own self-fulfilling prophecy!

Kia ora Foccers, I hope you and your (t)rusty steeds are fine and dandy, it's been a wee while, eh?
Given I've not been online for quite some time I'd not be surprised if many of you newer foccers are wondering "Who the foc is Aegis?".
:o :\
Since I absconded from the 'Weeg to this here Kiwiland, between one thing or another I've not been riding 'Bee nor logging in here very often and have come to the realisation that I need to stop pretending to myself that I'm going to give the site more time.
Bob and his team of Mods have done a great job keeping the auld girl going whilst I did little else other than cover the costs.
I owe Foc-U a lot; the friends, advice and memories I've gained from here over my 16 years (seriously? wow!) of membership are irreplaceable, but I feel it's time I stepped down fully and passed the site onto someone that can give her the effort she deserves.
Ideally it would be someone with the IT knowhow to help decide if SMF is still the best software, if cloud based hosting would be better, should countersteering be used during FTP back ups...
So, with that in mind, if any of you fine folks have a hankerin' to help out as Admin and take over ownership of the site then please let myself and Bob know.
I'd ask that your intentions are honourable as I'd hate to log back in and see Foc-u covered in ads, the auld girl deserves better.
For those keen to take over but concerned around the fees (circa £130PA) perhaps going back to the old model of Community Chest contributions covering hosting and registration would help?
It's been a foccin' blast folks!
Take care, stay safe and keep her shiny side up.
Aegis

- Valve clearances checked & in spec prior to strip.

Serious enquiries only, Pics on request, Any questions pls PM me, am near Barnsley S/Yorks - Looking for £3,000
Thanks for looking.

| Fazer 8 ABS Bleedin Brakes!!!! |

Hi, (skip to the bottom for the question if you can't be a***d to read the whole story)
I wonder if anyone can advise on a problem I have with my brakes. I recently bought the bike privately, 2013 Fazer 8 ABS, and it had no front brake, the parts were all there just the lever went straight to the bar!It needed new pads and the fluid looked like it needed changing so these were done and then I attempted to bleed.
I bled using the pump the brake and then release the bleed valve on the caliper method until I had a reasonable brake. All seemed well, I went back to the bike ten minutes later and the lever was straight back to the bar :'( I kept trying, and getting the same result so I thought master cylinder kit was required. Kit purchased and fitted, same result!!! :o I then bypassed/cut out the ABS unit and managed to get a decent brake that held so I assume the issue is with the ABS unit or an air lock in the ABS unit, so I put the system back together and tried bleeding sections of the system bit by bit, finishing off with a good bleed at the callipers and all seemed well, the pressure held and I thought I'd cracked it. So I get ready for a test ride, start the bike and when I go to move it, NO BRAKE!!!!!When I turned the bike off I pumped the brake a couple of time and have a brake again, and it's held for a couple of hours, but I haven't started the bike again. There is no apparent leaks or loss of fluid.
QUESTION: Is there a special way to bleed these brakes? Am I doing somthing obvious wrong? Any suggestions greatly received.Thank you.

Hi All,
There's a similar post on this regarding routing new fuel hoses by Friar (https://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=2712...rdseen#new) but I have a slightly different question to ask.
I want to replace the 3 fuel lines from tank to carbs.
What have people done in the past?
- Is there somewhere I can get OEM fuel hoses for cheap?
- Has anyone got straight hoses and then shaped them?
- Should I just apply the solution in Friar's post and get straight hose that is long enough to compensate for the tight space getting from points A to B?
I'm not sure how I should proceed.
Location: Sydney, Australia
Cheers

Went to the SB on Saturday. Took a ride out with a pal on my new bike.
The last time I went there must have been about 10 years ago (maybe more) with a bunch of foccers (MarchRide, MissHornet, Bert there Cert, Foggy, any of you still around?). Got me wondering if it's still a regular haunt for any of you?
Silver ball cafe it based on the A10 just south of Royston, and is in the middle of a network of some cracking roads. My personal favourite (and the one I revisited Saturday) being the A507.
I'm thinking of heading to a few more biker haunts as the last remaining weekends of decent weather slip away.
Super sausage near Towcester (was mobbed today with some event on)
Jack's Hills on the A5 / A43 junction.
Ace cafe maybe as well.
Anyone in the area heading anywhere like these (or others) and fancy a blast?
