Hi, I'vm new to this forum and would welcome some advice/ help on the following issue.
I have a 2004 Fazer 1000 with 20k on the clock and live in the Costa Blanca region of Spain.
A couple of months ago I started having problems with increased idling revs with the throttle off. This would occur after about an hour of riding - the revs would only drop to around 2.5k with a closed throttle - which affected changing gear and mak engine braking at slower speeds difficult. When coming to a stop I could get the revs down to the correct idling level if I let the clutcn out briefly, moved forward slightly and then dabbed the front brake. The issue would then return again once moving.
If I stopped for fuel the issue disappeared for a bit then returned again after about 10 mins of riding. I had the plugs, air filter, chain/sprockets and lubricants changed recently and the problem seemed to have been sorted. However, I went out for a long ride this week and the issue has returned ?
I assume it's a heat related issue...maybe the TPS but I'm only no expert and only guessing, so would welcome any opinions or thoughts on this issue. Many thanks.

Old tried and tested models get discontinued, such is life.
If the info helps anyone, I got these tyres and they are very nice - good grip, good handling:
Metzeler
SPORTEC™ M9 RR
Front 110/70 ZR 17 M/C 54W TL
Rear 160/60 ZR 17 M/C (69W) TL
Metzeler website page for the model:
https://www.metzeler.com/en-ww/catalogue...onId=37917
Roads in Serbia are not very grippy, so tyres like these last for a long time (don't get to wear out too quickly) and it's usually best to look for the most grippy compound available.
Not sure about other countries, or for heavier bikes and loads, but this is what works for me.

Hi,
I had my first hard ride out on the bike at the weekend, when I’m on full throttle in first or second and the front end is …. Well going up, when I bring the front down the bike pops into neutral off throttle , it also does it going over a hump back bridge and letting off the throttle. Never had a bike do this, I know the answer is stop being an idiot but..anyway.
the bike has been babied by the old owner for 8 years and he got it with 7k on the clock, and now it has 11200 miles
Bike has had plenty of services and I have just done another with Motul oil etc.
The shift linkages are free and working
It does have a R6 shift arm (same as Richard Marks)
Clutch has free play and doesn’t slip
I can’t replicate it on demand only in certain situations.
Has anyone had this or can you offer any advice aside stop being stupid ?
Regards
Rodster
