Thinking of selling :/
Posted by: Kinggy - 17-03-12, 11:10 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi there people!!

it's come to the point of thinking of letting go of my fazer.

It's just been sat outside since September due to me very, very stupidly loosing my licence for 6 months ( TW@ I knoww )

I'll just run through a few points.

 • 2001 yamaha fzs fazer 600
 • 57,000 miles
 • currently sorn ( which can be sorted as still insured)
 • M.O.T literally ran out today but i personally think only a front tyre and she'll fly through.
 • Renthal bars and dominator headlights.
 • braided lines
 • FZS 1000 rear caliper.
 • Scott oiler
 • Gold chain
 • K&N air filter
 • Done the mod a few weeks back which was on here changing speedo lights to blue.
Right, That's just a few pointers as to which I can remember off the top of my head. I'm thinking of selling as this is sadly one of the poor fazers that suffers that deadly slip of 2nd gear BUT it's not all bad as I have a replacement lump which is a 2002 model 600, And with only 9,000 (unverified) but that's what the ebay listing said, but that on it's own set me back a fair old bit of £££.

I'm basically here to see if anyone would be interested in buying her or of some numbers in which I should sell for ?! Although still contemplating weather to sell both items seperatly as the engine is probably worth £300 easy, Or sell bike and engine together.

Here's some pics ( quite recent ) just to let you guys know what she looks like, Bearing in mine she's a bit rough around the edges she's still not that bad..

As winters now over and the salts fooked off (fingers crossed) the metal parts of my fazer are looking abit tarnished and could do with smartening up.

I've been using autosol and abit of elbow grease but it doesnt seem to remove everything.

Is there anything else better on the market for removing all the marks?

So finally got my bike back together, with new R6 shock (courtesy of Devilsyam) and chain and sprockets. Gotta say, though I've only ridden it in traffic around town, the improvement in handling is immediately obvious. The ride feels firmer without being harsh and choppy, it turns in easier and, for me, gives it a better, more front biased riding position. So good news so far, I'm planning on getting out in the countryside this weekend so it should give me a better idea of how much of an improvement the shock gives. If anyones thinking about upgrading the rear suspension on their bike, give Devilsyam a shout on here, before looking at other more expensive upgrades. The shock kit comes ready to fit, its a straight swap and the finish, very professional.  Even if you do get called muppet!

Hi, I am looking for some advice or to hear of your experiences.

I am fairly new to riding having been on two wheels for just under two years. However I have racked up some 25k miles on all types of road and done 2 days of advanced training. Recently I started taking my 11 year old daughter on the back for sbort trips and we are now planning a trip to scotland in the summer which would be 500 miles each way and of course the bike is my fidst choice. Having done the training days I know I can handle a full day in the saddle but am unsure if my daughter would be able to deal with the reality of it.
Ic we do go on the bike I was planning on splitting the journey across two days and into 90 to 120 sessions with 45 minutes breaks.

Would love to hear your experiences and advice.

Thanks in advance

Sinbad

  Shite on ebay

Are people prepared to buy anything these days?? I couldn't for shame put items up for auction in the condition that these sellers seem to think is ok!!

Example one.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS-FAZ...4159603573

two.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS600-...5d303e0df4

Surely if the seller took 30 mins to give them a scrub someone just might buy them........ Personally in that state i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!!
