Went for my first proper ride this sat with no major hiccups except when I got back are lasswas covered head to bum in mud and crud from the road / back tyre is there anyway to stop this as even my throw I've panniers were covered on the inside I've got a standard fz6.

Hey all,
I've lost my keys so I'm replacing my ignition barrell etc, just wondered before I take it all apart does anyone know what size the secirity bolts are that hold it on are so I know what to replace it with.

Afternoon all. I picked myself up an 04 FZ6 (15k on the clock, full service history, dry weather bike with rack, topbox and a Scottoiler!) yesterday after my Kawasaki ER-5 blew the engine on Friday. From the test rides and general inspection it seems like a cracking bike and a massive step up from what I had before, however I have a few questions.
1) Common problems, what are they? Anything I should keep an eye out for?
2) Is it possible to buy 33bhp restrictors for these as unfortunately I'm still on my restricted license for another couple of months.
3) Anything else new owners need to know?
I'm a bit mechanically inclined with plenty of tools, so I'm not afraid of doing a bit of wrenching myself if need be :lol

Hello all, I'm Jack.
Bought myself an 04 FZ6 yesterday with 15K on the clock, scottoiler and a full rack and topbox. She's dark blue and has the full fairing too! My last bike was a Kawasaki ER-5 that blew up the other day when the carb float jammed open and dumped the contents of the petrol tank into the crankcase. Fun times. I'm located in Derbyshire England and that's just about it!
