So I've just been for a pootle back from Southport, gave a lad who works for me a lift home, been riding back, nothing silly as there has been a lot of traffic being evening. Into a slow, first gear left hander at the roundabout, go for second and CCCCRRRRUUUUNNCCCH.... Gear lever feels a little wooly, tries to go for second again, crunch, engage then jump out... Thinking it's me being a gonk, I go for first, it engages, into second and it engages then jumps out. Hmmmmm

Manage to get the gears to engage, riding along, pulling up to a set of lights and it jumps out of second. Gear lever feels like it's not returning from the up shift, and now feels VERY notchy altogether. The scenario has happened a few times now, where it is very notchy, and jumps out of second.

Fortunately, I bought the bike three weeks ago from a local Yam Dealer, and the bike has 3 months warranty.

Please could any of the more mechanically minded Foccers advise if this is a well known fault on the thou, I know the 600 was well known for jumping out of first if you gave it some welly, but I wonder if you could cast some light on the (endless) possibilities?

Have a few bits that were lying around up for sale.

1. Headlight to fit square eye Fazers. Good condition, pretty clean inside but small area just above bulb of dipped beam reflector peeling, see photo. Can barely see it when fitted to bike & I didn't notice change in beam. Incl bulbs. £50 + P&P
   
2. Brand New front fairing/ headlight bracket. Comes in original Yamaha bag, 100% straight, never used. Fits square eye Fazers. £70 + P&P
   
3. Lowered seat. Good condition, lowered quite a bit. £50 + P&P
   
4. Seat cover. Average condition, holes in lower edge where it has been put on floor, otherwise looks ok. £5 + P&P

Hi guys, I'm new to the site & you lot were recommended to me. I'm a midwife living in South Wales and I've got 2003, FZS600 Fazer; not been riding long, passed test in November and unfortunately had a crash last week!! Front end damage - top fairing, headlight unit, brackets & front mudguard. Got most of the parts (nearly) and was hoping to get advice about where I can get a replacement headlight unit. All help greatly received, thanks xx

Just changing the rad coolant....the yamaha manual says ' ethylene glycol' but all i can seem to find is something else called 'ethandeiol' spelling or similar.

This was in the local B.P.Garage and in Morrisons , the latter being 'blue star' pre-mixed.

is any of this stuff any good does anyone know as i don't want to buy it and find i should not be using it?

I'm new here, and it seems a great site to me!


I have 2002 FZS-600, and thinking about adapting an eccentric throttle pulley from FZ-6 (or other?)


Is this doable? What do I need to swap?


The goal is to have smoother throttle response around idle and light loads, as it's a bit sharp to my (and my passenger's) taste.

Selling whole bike minus cylinder head. Might have a buyer for the bottom end, top fairing & tank, will update when I know for sure. Wheels have red spokes with polished rims & brand new road smart 2's fitted. Not decided if I am keeping the tyres yet so forget them for now. I am in Redditch, Worcestershire but can post small stuff. I have 2 seats (1 needs a cover) & 2 rear lights. Thought I would let you people know about it before I start listing stuff on ebay.
