Sorry if this has been answered before, a quick search didn't throw up anything..

Right, so, dug bike out yesterday, first time in a while.
Battery had been on charge, was reading 12.5V when I whacked it on the bike.

Fired up, everything fine.

Tried all my lights everything fine. - except. When I put it to full beam or push the flash button the clocks go completely dead for a second. time/trip doesn't reset, but all idiot lights go on then off. then when riding, after indicating, they went off permanently. stopped, turned ign off and on and they came back on.


My other woe is when I went to restart it, nothing, the battery had gone down to 11 volts (tried to start straight after turning engine off, not left overnight or anything)..

Now, I'm hoping to high foc it's just a new battery is needed, because I did the reg/rec connector block over the winter, first ride since and I don't want to hear that I've foced it up..
I'm going to put the charged battery back on tomorrow and see if the battery is being charged.

(Does anyone know how to check I'm getting current from the alternator?)

sorry if some of this seems stupid, I've never done it before so want to make sure I don't go down the wrong route and spend lots of money...

thought I would do an oil and filter change to save money , can I get the filter off ?  no way tried loads of tools on it , so ff it has gone to the guy who put the last one on !!  grrrrrr  so much for saving money

Hi everyone..i have just bought a 06 fz1 n after parting with my busa ..55 Years young and wanted something abit lighter this seems to fit the job..not been on it much only had it monday this week ..9000 ..06  £4000 ...i'm from nuneaton hello all

:'( Help has anybody got a complete set of front forks for my 2002 fazer 1000 due to the usual i didn,t see you mate cash waiting thanks.

The round bracket that goes around my stock exhaust is a bit loose. It maybe the spot welds have come loose in parts. I have notice some after market exhausts have a "rubber" strip underneath the round bracket.

Can these be purchased separately and if not could you recommend something else that would work and be able to deal with the heat ?

I can only find this but it seems like I would have to break my clamp off

Do the wheels off a thundercat fit fazers? And the rear caliper, could it fit?mand are the any better?

Just rejoined from the old site so I thought I'd better say hi. I've got a gen 1 fazer 1000 and based in Leeds

I've noticed that when I start my FZS1000 up from cold the cooling fan runs whilst the bike is stood idling.As soon as 1st gear is selected the cooling fan stops. I've not done any fault finding yet but wondered if this is a common fault on these bikes or if anyone has any advice on how to cure it.
Also when stood at junctions with the bike in gear it feels like it's trying to creep forward, I suspect that this is clutch drag probably due to the oil needing changing but as it's done 36k it could be the clutch plates I suppose. It does seem to be quite hard to change down from 5th to 4th to 3rd gears as well. The chain is in good condition and correctly tensioned so I don't think it's this but I wonder if it could be the cush drive?
Finally, does anyone know where I can get the fairing graphics for my 2003 yellow FZ1000S?
