My Fazer has just broke down on me today. Accelerating hard in 2nd gear, just about to select 3rd when there was a loss of power followed by a tinkling -rattly sound from down below. There seems to be compression still but the starter motor is just spinning over very quickly now as if it's not meshing with the starter cog. Is the small engine cover on the right a window to my cam chain? I am just about to go fetch the bike in my van when I've stopped crying.
Somebody wish me luck please, I'm having a bad day/week.

After loosing the nut off the front sprocket on my FZ 6 I have to pay £17.47 for it and a new tab washer when in the US I could got the same for under $7.
Plus in the US they were replacing them for free as it was a service upgrade (should it have been a recall). On 04/05s
My Yamaha dealer says that this is not the case in the UK.
Am I just being a typical Yorkshireman HOOOOOOOOW MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH.
are there any different rear wheel that will fit the fzs 600? i mean rs 125 bandit 600 r6 ??etc etc etc
my bearing collapsed and is being a tw@ to get out
so im summing up my options if i can't find a decent fzs rear near by im going to try something new, im after a 17" wheel as my tire has at least 1500 miles left
otherwise is there any other wheel swing arms which will bolt straight on???
(id rather have something which i could fit the fzs sprocket to as i have just bought a new c&s set)
Right folks, I'm heading to Edinbugger on Saturday for work stuff and jumping off the train in Falkirk on me way back to meet Biggus Maccus for a light refreshment.
I know it's short notice but all and sundry welcome to join in.
Plan is as advanced as Saturday evening, but no further than that.
I suspect I'll be heading through around 4ish if I'm honest, but need to see what time suits folks.
Looking for a undertray/mudguard for a 03 Gen1 1000.
Some one has chopped my mudguard off at the number plate, i would not mind but it throws dirt and crud up into the handle/lock of my givi topbox. I would even take the bit that was cut off and i could patch it on again.
not sure if its just my fazer or its the norm but the best way i can explain is all oor nothing, if i try to be gentle with the throttle lets say round an island its very hard to get smooth throttle if at all possible, its very jerky and maybe too responsive, at first i thought it was me not used to the fazer but my friend has an r1 and said exaxtly the same, we swapped for a while the other day and found his r1 much much better throttle control, any ides what can be the cause or is this normal, carbs have been balanced around 1000 miles ago throttle has been adjusted (not at carbs) new fuel just done a service, filter oil plugs. also what is correct carb mixture (how many turns) k&n filter and micron can not been ivanized :{
