  Brakes
Posted by: Fazer Jake - 26-05-12, 05:29 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Just changed my pads to EBC bedding them in at the moment i noticed they do rub a touch (it will still rotate 1 turn easy) then do get hot after riding and when i brake at high speeds i do feel some slight vibration through the handle bars.

is this normal until the pads break in?

My DD has the chance of sharing a flat for her college days and we are being told we need to sign as guarantor for her. That's fine. What worries me is the terms 'joint and several' in the tenancy agreement. That means if any of the three occupants fail to keep up with the rent we can be liable for it all. The estate agency says that all the tenancies are done this way!
Happy (ish) to be guarantor for DD but for others as well?
Suggestions please.... :grumble

  Hello again !!

Hello

I was a member on the old site back between 2003-2007.

I have had 5 different bikes since 2007, most recently a CBR600F sport which I have had for 9 months now and I love riding it but the Mrs isnt comfortable on the back. I enjoy my rides out with her and I don't want her to start not wanting to come out so I asked her out of the bikes we have owned what did she like? She replied "The best bike from my point of views was the 03 plate Fazer 1000 you had about 5 years ago"

I had a look around and saw a 56 plate for sale near by at a local dealers with only 11.5k miles on it.

I went to chat to them today and it will be ready for me to pick up next week with two new tyres, new MOT, serviced an 2nd meta alarm fob. They are going to fit the pillion pegs back on and it has the original exhaust and pillion seat also with it.

I will miss my CBR but I cant wait until next Saturday  Big Grin

We do print work/support in whatever way we can for a guy called Talan and as I've gotten a minute or two waiting for my laser to output some artwork seps I thought I'd let all you Fazer folk about what he's doing......

Talan's been organising 2 wheeled "track" experience for disabled riders, started at Castle Combe tho's doing some on airfields and the like, is a fab' idea brought about by his wanting to continue riding in spite of being confined to a chair, working out how to and doing it and competing in racing for which he's just got his ACU licence and is racing Minitwins (I think!) in ThundersportGB series, Was at The Ace Cafe recently too with race bike.

Rather than me mithering on for pages go see his www which is thebikeexperience.co.uk which'll give you the rundown on what's what, he's on Facebook too so give him a like.

  Fazer Model Range
Posted by: Dave48 - 26-05-12, 08:42 AM - Forum: Fazer 8 / FZ8 - Replies (4)

With the introduction of the FZ8 & Fazer8 is it Yamahas intention to discontinue the 600 & 1Litre models in the foreseeable future?
I know sportsbike sales have taken a dive so are they trying for a VFR 800 type of market. Dont think theyve got it right yet though-theres something awful cheap about the suspension on an otherwise nicely finished bike. Pricing is still too high IMO
Seems like they discovered a winner with the early incarnations of Fazer 600 & 1000 in terms of go anywhere/do anything but when it came to model update time they thought they were trying for the sports market which they had already got sewn up with the R6 & R1. Am I missing something here? What would be a fair list price for the 8 series(Its only a start point for haggling isnt it?) :eek
