Hi,
I've just bought a 51 plate fazer 1000.
Needs a bit of work doing to it to put it all back together - but the engine runs so that is a bonus.
Got some parts on order and hopefully it will be ready for an mot in a few weeks time.

| Powder coating wheels |

The wheels on my little 125 run-about have started to corrode on the inside and can't hold the air in the tyres (after only 10,000 miles in all but the worst of weather). I was going to buy some replacement wheels from ebay, but there is nothing to say they won't suffer the same fate. I heard powder coating the wheels will resolve the issue. I have also read powder coating wheels can cause them to weaken. Both options will cost the same, so money is not a factor. Have any of you Foccers done this before, and if so, what was your experience?

Hi all,
After some advice after my rear wheel valve stem came loose on the way home today (motorway speeds) so pressure went from 35-36psi/2.5bar to bog all and I was burnin' rubber on a semi flattie. Managed to get home and rolled her into the garage and attached a track pump, but the valve "innards" came away in my hand. I think it's a push to fit valve and the rest of the valve, a big rubber bit, is still within the wheel gubbins somewhere. What's the best thing to do here?
Any and all advice appreciated.
Cheers,
fish.

Hi (again?) folks,
I was a member here years ago, having a year 2000 Fazer 600 in black (the fastest type!), remembering folks like chalky, tcat, rubbermat et al. Sorry I've been away so long and it's great to be back. Still have the bike - must be a decade of ownership now, which makes this the longest I've ever owned a vehicle. That in itself speaks volumes about the awesomeness of the bike.
I've done the twin light wiring mod from years ago with super bright bulbs, plus the obligatory stainless header pipe swapout after the original mild steel ones developed some, ahem, "vents", changed the air filter to a K&N to free up the midrange, had a go with a double-bubble airblade screen, plus a custom under the seat immobiliser thing. A bit of a tinkerer if I'm honest.
Big shout to the all you guys and gals from me in North Cardiff (Rhiwbina)!
Cheers,
Mark (aka fishwibbler/fish)

24th June 2012 - EU Hands Off Biking EU Hands Off Biking! A Motorcycle Action Group Campaign
On September 25th 2011, MAG organised a Demo against new anti-motorcycle legislation proposed by Europe. It was the biggest mass ride-out of bikes this country had ever seen, with a total in excess of 40,000! The next Demo will be on Sunday 24th June 2012. This time the rides will coincide with each of the 12 EU Parliamentary Constituencies in the UK. All rides leave their start point at 1pm prompt. Some rides have dispersal points, some have finish points where you can park up and chat about the amazing event you have just been a part of!
We are not trying to 'beat' the turnout from last September, we are targeting the constituencies of MEPs who can vote in Europe and make a difference. But obviously, the more bikes the greater our impact, so please see details below for a start point near you.
Please see https://www.facebook.com/pages/EU-Hands-...0043541800 and www.mag-uk.org for more information.
Scotland Constituency Ride
Start Point: Glasgow - Kelvin Way Gather from 12 noon for 1pm setoff.
Dispersal Point : Disperse at Junction 2 M8 Near Edinburgh.

On the fz6 if i use a ruler/dial type calipers on the length of the bolt on the chain tensioners and measure the bolt length would that be good enough to keep the rear wheel algned?
