Just wanted to say hello to all here. I will be more a lurker until something goes wrong!

Seems a good community forum. I'm new to biking through DAS last month and picked up a 1999 Fazer FZS600 in immaculate condition locally. I was torn between getting a CBR 600 or a Fazer for my first bike but so glad I chose the Fazer.

I'm based in Portlethen, near Aberdeen and will be out and about as much as possible trying to learn everything I can. May try and come to some of the Scotland ride outs but the missus and baby are not agreeing Wink

Love the Bike. Pics to follow.

Hello, welcome, and watch out for them bloody cagers (car drivers) with an IQ as high as their finger count.

Welcome mate, Fazers a great first bike but practice those emergency stops - the brakes are bit better than you will have used in training

Cheers folks. For some reason my instructor taught me to use Back break all the time and only front in an emergency. I have since learnt I should use front a lot more.

I got the 'money shot' wrong on one of the pictures and should have had the hill in the background and not the foreground Wink

Use the gears to slow down and only use the brakes for pulling up to a stop.

Makes you smoother and makes you look a lot further ahead.

I use the gears to slow down as often as possible. I can go my commute to work (11 miles) without using the breaks usually.

It was a 'first day' photo, I kept checking to make sure it was still on the driveway!
