Help !!
Just bought a 2001 FZS 600 last week thought I had a gem, only 17,000 miles full service history one careful only just used for parish rounds etc etc. Hmm bike jumped out of second then won't select first loads of false neutrals, gearbox sounds terrible and to top it off back wheel locked solid during downshift and had to walk home get van and pick the bugger up ! Is there a common fault with these gearboxes ? Am I going to have to pull the engine out and replace the whole box if so are cheap recons available. Would appreciate any advice with this bike haven't had a chance to bond with it yet and now my wallet is sweating.
Cheers :'(

Whilst giving the bike an acf 50 shower today I noticed some shiny (ish) arms that seemed to recognise from somewhere as being bike jack up or lowering devices, can anyone tell me what colour the originals are and how to tell if they are jack up or lowering type,I'm about 6 foot and the bike doesn't seem that low to me,the ones on the bike are gold, they just stuck out as not being quite dirty enough to be original.

Just completed my regular journey to mothers in Lancashire , some 350 miles from my home in Cornwall, I usually do this trip in around five and a half hours in my old Diesel Astra. most times i arrive feeling reasonably fresh . This time on my Fazer i had a recurrence of the extreme fatigue i have experienced on a previous bike trip, I took extra care this time to keep the speed in the 80's and do regular stops keeping hydrated with caffeine drinks etc. but I still arrived feeling absolutely knackered,
the first sign that i am tired usually creeps in with a paranoia of changing lanes. anybody else experience this trouble

Hi,
Can anybody answer this one please?
I bought a hong kong originated coloured clutch lever, fitted it and it appears very loose and wobbly as if it is about to drop off.
i have checked the bolt and it is tight.
it is almost as if something is missing!
also gear changing is quite rough as if the clutch is not working properly.
the cable is ok as it is new.
any ideas please?
thanks
