  fazer around town
Posted by: caretaker - 18-07-12, 09:42 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

is it me or is the 600 seriously bad around town? it judders and jerks like the cush drive rubbers have been removed and you have to stay in 2nd gear permanently. my divvy 600 was smooth at 15-25mph. on the open road however, its a great bike especially in the sweepers. but i'm seriously looking around for a little 125 just for town use. sachs madass would be cool but they aint cheap.

Talk mobile - anyone used them?
Posted by: HarryHornby - 18-07-12, 04:28 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hi all,

Talk mobile are part of Carphone Warehouse, they are offering some cracking deals at the mo using Talk Mobile, their own mobile service provider piggy backing off the back of vodafone

Before I make the jump has anyone used them?  I'm getting mixed reviews off of the web, same with all things, some good some bad.  Just after some extra foccer reviews.

  Hi, back on a Fazer!
Posted by: Elise111s - 18-07-12, 12:34 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I'm back on a Gen 1 600 Fazer 10 years after owning my first (a gold gen1 600 which I absolutely loved).

I've had numerous bikes including (a Yamaha YB100, Kawasaki ER-5, Yamaha RD 250, Honda XR-250, Honda CBR 600F, Triumph Daytona 955i, Aprilia RS 125, Ducati Monster M750) but I think the Fazer is the bike I've probably missed most.

A month into ownership of this one I can remember what all the fuss was about first time around - quick, comfortable, and so forgiving. I only bought it as a commuter really, but found myself having a hoot on Sunday doing 200 miles to Kirby Lonsdale, Hawes, & Leyburn.

I'm well pleased with my bike which although not a minter by any means I got as a bit of a bargain. New tyres, a better sounding exhaust, and a radiator guard are on my shopping list.

Really like the site by the way, loads of good info and knowledgeable people on here.

Help wanted with intermittent starting issue
Posted by: davedee69 - 18-07-12, 11:43 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi, I have a 2000 W FZS600 Fazer, ive had it since Feb, lovely bike all been running fine, I went to Silverstone on it a couple of weeks ago and got very wet! Ive used it a few times since without problem until a couple of days ago, i got my gear on and went out, so i thought............
It would not start. Turns over very fast but is not firing. So I took my gear off and took my seat off and checked the connectors where the loop is for immobilisers etc ( I dont have immobiliser) all looks ok, maybe ive got something wet?
try again, nope, again, instant fire and it runs. so i go out and do about 10 miles, just as im pulling into my road on the way back it dies, i tried restarting and it just turned over again. So i pushed it home and started checking the obvious.
Battery is good, it seems to be getting fuel, well it was when i was out, Ive just changed the spark plugs as they were cheap enough, air filter is new.
turned it over and it started instantly, turn it off, then it doesn't start again.
It seems to have been very hit and miss the last few days, it starts then it doesnt.
So i ask, what could it be, moisture somewhere? a dodgy ignition coil? however i find it strange that it either runs or doesnt, when it does its fine, no misfires or anything, could a dodgy coil pack cause the instant failure and refusal to start?
I have read very very similar stories on the net but with no conclusions, if anyone has had this problem, did it just go away or di they find a fix.
Any help would be appreciated, Id rather not have to take her to the dealer!
How can i check things?
thanks in advance
Dave.

Ebay Listing:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160855044446?s...883wt_1185

The bike is in Crewe, Cheshire. 10 mins from Junctions 16 and 17 of the M6.
I am the owner of the bike. It is registered in my name and can be viewed at the same address as the V5 Registration Document.

This will be the 3rd bike I've sold through eBay and ALL the previous buyers are still speaking to me :o ) 100% Feedback.....

I've only had my pride and joy since March this year. However, due to a marriage split in May, I need to sell in order to get a car for when I have my daughters.
It was bought from a Honda main dealer and had everything done pre-sale to see the bike through to March next year.

The following was done in March this year...
It was serviced and fully checked over for the MOT.
MOT'd til March 2013
New front pads. Tons left in them
New Maxxis Supermaxx front and rear tyres. I'd never heard of the make but after doing 2500 miles in ALL weathers, I can't fault them and there's still bags of life left in them.
EXUP stripped and greased. Cables adjusted

I have since fitted...
Fender Extender
Hein Gericke Heated Grips
12v Socket
Optimate lead.
ALL OF THESE WILL BE STAYING ON THE BIKE

I have JUST carried out another oil change.

There are 3 previous owners to me. The owner before me had it for 8 years.

When I say totally reliable I MEAN it. I would go anywhere on this bike tomorrow without hesitation.

The bike starts first time EVERYTIME. It then runs, rides and pulls hard EXACTLY as it should.
All electrics are spot on.

There was no documented service history with the bike when I bought it. It didn't put me off though as no bike would get to 10 years old and still look this good if it hadn't been well maintained.
I was also buying it from a Honda main dealer who know more about bikes than me and they were clearly confident enough to sell it.
I do have all the old MOT's though to help verify the mileage.

In Summary:
2002 (02 Reg.)
32500 miles
MOT March 2013
Tax til end Sept 2012
HPI clear on all counts

Semi synthetic oil change JUST done, again.
TOTALLY reliable
Buy it, ride it, enjoy it.... needs nothing til March 2013.
Just a brilliant solid, honest bike
