  Sparky Help Please
Posted by: Skippernick - 07-09-12, 04:50 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Just moved house and its riddled with 12v halogen bulbs, so switching some to LED's instead.
I have 3 undercounter lights which i've got G4 LED replacement bulbs (the ones with 2 pins as connectors) into and although they work they flicker and fluctuate. Do i need to replace the transformer with an LED transformer?
Many Thanks
Nick

  Friendly Fire ???

Went out in the cage today and as I was pulling out from the B1368 onto the A505 at Flint Cross an Apache helicoptor flew over at about 50ft off the ground and looked as if it was intening to land at the small airfield just outside Fowlmere. I think he was probably meant to land at the IWM at Duxford ( about 3 miles away ) as they have an air show this weekend. I bet the foccers at the Fowlmere airfield had a fright  :eek

Rebuilt brake - now not bleeding through
Posted by: Revilo18 - 07-09-12, 02:02 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has rebuilt the rear brake system (caliper clean, new seals, new rear mater cylinder becuase the old one was knackered) put it all back together after removing all of the old fluid from caliper, lines cylinder etc, then filled the resevoir pumped the brake to sart bleeding into some tube and a jam-jar, only to find nothing coming through from the reseviour to the cylinder.
I can't get it to bleeding bleed.
The new (second hand) master cylinder all looks in good order. I spoke briefly to a friend who said I might have an airlock in the system.
When I pump the back brake lever air does comes out of the bleed nipple into my rubber tubing. It seems like there's just nothing coming through to the actual cylinder from the resevoir....?
Anyone know of a good way forward?

Thanks,

Hey all quick question..
Having trouble getting a rack at a decent frice for my gen 1 1000.

Came across the Shad rack arms on ebay and wondered if anyone has one and can tell me if theyre any good.. Also does the old flat style givi plates fit them..

Givi arms just seem to be too expensive at the minute

When has your 6th sense saved you?

Remembered 2 separate occasions years ago. Firstly approaching green traffic light(my right of way) and suddenly felt need to slow and sure enough car crossed my path over red light & traversed junction @ speed limit (30mph). Second time was waiting @ (blind) junction for green light. Lights changed green but had "the feeling" and as I  slowly rode forward to line  lady driver  on  intersecting road drove over her red light saw me & panic braked & stopped. Ever since Ive always checked the junction R & L. The green light doesnt mean its safe to proceed. :eek  Noticed recently there are more amber gamblers and red ones thats apart from the texters & sat nav slaves!

Did you know that we have talent in our midst? Rusty, for example, is a brilliant painter!! He's also good at painting vehicles too!
I do a bit of painting too, but at a very amateur level  Sad  Mine is the still-life and the wonderful aircraft painting is Rusty's.
What hobbies do you have??

Hello all. Just wanted to say what's up. I came across a link for this site on the FZ1OA forum and figured I would join up. As the subject says..I'm from the US. Rhode Island to be specific. I have an 02 Gen 1 in silver. I bought is Dec. of 2011 and have put close to 10k on her so far. I have enjoyed talking to all the fz1 owners on the other forums and hope to get to know you all as well.

Noobie needing advice on first Fazer purchase.
Posted by: Arfa - 06-09-12, 09:47 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (12)

Hello all,
Bit of a noob, only just passed my DAS last week, and now looking to pick up a Fazer to get me started. Seen a nice FSZ600, '03 model, low miles and seemingly in pristine nick. What should I look out for when I check it out? Been warned to check the downpipes (still original black ones) and sticky brakes. What else?
