  700 MILES
Posted by: SEPTIKANGEL - 08-09-12, 03:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (20)

I'm used to the 'wing on distances, sooooo comfy.
Using the Fazer for approx 700 miles solo tomorrow covering the North Lakes from Liverpool, Stanraer, Kelso, Newcastle and more before going home.
Setting out about 4am, reckon to be back 'fore dark.
Planning on about 9 to 10 stops, photographing Landmarks for this years RoundBritainRally.
Did 480 miles in 1 day on a Blackbird some years ago.
Crippled me for a week.
How's the Fazer gonna do then?
What about me??  Wink

I was speaking to the volunteers at the doors open day in the work. I fancy it. Would need to get some advanced training tho. What a can worms that might be.

But it means i'd have a blue right to play with.

On a bike no less

Ah...the pishyness of being a civvie

Posted by: FuZzBoM - 08-09-12, 09:24 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

Hi all, a friend of mine does some work for BikeTrac, they are part of the road angel group.
They have a competition to win SBK tix to  Magny-Cours and a tracker..

all you need to do is like the page ad then you can enter the comp..
http://www.facebook.com/BikeTrac

The trackers are very impressive. when we went to Ireland his kids could track where we had been on the internet.
Oh and hey are used for security too  :lol

If you do win i would like some kind of kick back please.. a pint will do haha..
Good Luck...

  70 & Smoking
Posted by: gel - 07-09-12, 09:06 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (15)

The old girl 02 has hit 70K and I have noticed that the end can is a bit sooty and when you rev the engine 10 - 11K and back it off you get some smoke. Is this a new engine job or is this normal?

I am going to monitor the engine oil usage next week and see if its more than Yamaha's recommended oil usage. This engine has been serviced every 4K since new, and always gets a new oil filter every time. I do about 400 miles a week.

on my instrument panel, there is a button which has 'clock' next to it. does that mean a proper clock, or a tripmeter or something? my haynes manual says nothing and i dont have the little handbook for it.

  Oi! ...Oil Bargain
Posted by: Major Rant - 07-09-12, 07:26 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I'd hate any of the cheapskates on here to miss the chance to save a few quid  Smile

My local Asda (North Swindon) is selling 4 litre cans of 10/40 semi synthetic for £8 on the grounds that it is "Discontinued"
Alongside it is the new identical looking 5 litre can for £18 (I think).

Ticks all the boxes ... SL/CF spec ACEA A3/B3 ...its what's going in mine next but of course, its not for the discerning few who like their oil "reassuringly expensive". :eek

Its probably in all big Asdas: get it while its hot!
