Just bought some of these recently (& snapped a stud getting the old ones off but that's another story...). If anyone's fitted them before, can you remember if you needed a new gasket for the silencer (standard one)? I only ask cause it's a very tight fit with the old, compressed one still in there. I can't really see how a new one would fit & don't want to make unnecessary purchase. If I do need one, which is recommended? Also, what size are the nuts on the 2 bolts that hang the exhaust? Would have been nice if Motad could have dropped some in the box!

ok,i tried to fit my bar end sliders from RG RACING (r&g) today,i undid the bolt holding the standard bar end in place, but the bung with the thread which the bolt screws into is well stuck in place within the handlebar and appears unremovable, where as the replacement bar ends need to be screwed into the end of the handlebars.
has anyone fitted after market bar ends, and did you have to remove the 'bung' from within the handle bars?
and if so,how,as the bungs have no shape to them to be removed by a spanner/socket set?
sorry to be stoopid, but im clearly missing something!!
(sorry, carnt add photo's as have no way of uploading them at the moment)
any tips chaps?

Just saw red 98's thread about trail riding and wasn't sure if he was on about jumping up rocks on super light gasgas things with no seat or off road riding through dirt tracks and trails on a big scrambler. So I made this to not derail it just in case. I would really like to get into off road riding properly but the bikes I'm looking at all seem fairly expensive for what they are. Also, what are the rules about actually riding off road? I live within riding distance of Dartmoor, so once I got there could I just find the nearest path and go for it? Have ridden a mates DT in a private field a fair few times a couple of years back and that was great fun but I would like to get a proper dual sport type thing as a 2nd bike and take it off road this summer.

Hi all, my 2000 yr fazer 600, has started to make an occasional noise, like a dry bearing poss. I have noticed the oil has gone a bit milky, the coolant hasn't dropped from full. I am guessing the pump is knacked, can they be repaired? Or anyone got any ideas? Thanks

I know everything is relative, and essentially the answer is always going to be "whatever someone wants to pay for it", but I'm looking for opinions of what roughly my Foxeye 600 is worth..
Its Blue, on an 02 with about 15k miles on the clock, well maintained, only did 500 miles since ive fitted 2 new pilot Road 2's, and changed the filters and oil and fitted iridium plugs.
Ive also changed the front and rear pads in the last 500 miles for Ferodo platinum pads, and Ive changed the brake fluid for fresh ferodo stuff as well (as well as fitting goodridge braided hoses all round).
Its got a few addons that came with the bike when I bought it too:
colour coded hugger
fender extender
blingy rad cover
crash bars (unmarked)
scottoiler
changed indicator covers to clear when i bought it (still have orange covers)
Ive also got a renntec rack, although this is not fitted at the minute (I took it off in favour of the standard grab handle).
finally, I changed the number plate when I bought it (a legal one!), as the old one was a bit tatty for me.
The only bad points, are that the chain is a bit rusty, so I will probably change the chain and sprockets before I sell it, unless I can clean up the chain suitably enough (its just surface rust - but really winds me up and I want a gold chain :o). And also that the engine is a bit tatty and could be doing with the black being done again (which I may well do if time and weather permits me.)
The bike is totally standard mechanically, and the downpipes are still in good condition (although, toying with changing those too - stainless ones look nicer :o:o).
So there you have it, whats she worth roughly do you reckon as I reckon I will sell her in the next 2-3 months before buying an FZS1000 shortly thereafter?
heres a couple of pics to give you an idea of condition (although this was before the brake pads/lines and tyres were changed)

Obviously I would like to get as much as I can for it, but I dont want to advertise it when the time comes for an unrealistic figure and have it for an age before it sells.
