ACF50 - Not Convinced? - nick crisp - 02-01-14 http://f2mcltd.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/winter-salt-protection-acf50-fs365-or.html Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - chris.biker - 02-01-14 I meant to do this sort of test with 2 plain steel washers spray one with ACF 50 and leave the other plain and then hang them up outside but never got around to it. Perhaps I will this weekend perhaps others would like to do a similar test and we could have FOC-U evidence. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - Lawrence - 02-01-14 I just leave my Fazer covered in chain lube and it doesn't seem to rust ![]() Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - Skippernick - 03-01-14 had actually just switched from fs365 and now glad that i have. Thought you were going to say acf50 was rubbish having just spent 15 quid on it. phew. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - hightower - 03-01-14 So what do you actually spray with it? I have some in the shed, but pink fluid puts me off spraying it. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - midden - 03-01-14 I'd have preferred to have seen the second test carried out exactly like the first, using wire wool. From what I understand, everything! Just not the brakes basically? (discs or calipers) Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - JZS 600 - 03-01-14 washed once a week, no problems with corrosion Just don't fancy clarting my bike up with that shit Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - chris.biker - 03-01-14 I keep it clear of pivot points. When it is sprayed on to the swing arm any chain spray on it just dissolves which is great for wiping the swing arm clean, but I do not fancy it running into the greased pivot points and dissolving the grease. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - midden - 04-01-14 I presume it better to buy the acf bottle which comes with the pump as opposed to the aerosol? If that's an atomising spray, it's gotta be better than the aerosol. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - fazersharp - 04-01-14 I find the aerosol comes out too thick. And im not that impressed with it, only because I thought it was going to be thinner and then form a kind of film and then dry. Its more like goo when sprayed, so I spray a bit into the lid and spot dab with a brush. Although if I ride in the wet all day long then I would wipe on with a rag. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - raff113 - 04-01-14 I just spray it on a rag and then wipe the bike Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - raff113 - 04-01-14 What I don't like about acf50 is that if I put on downpipes they smoke and stink until acf burns off, but at least it does the job Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - fazersharp - 04-01-14 if it burns off it hasnt done anything has it? Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - raff113 - 04-01-14 It has from the point I put it on to the point I started the engine, right? Which in my case could be a week or two Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - raff113 - 04-01-14 Besides I think that it's only the excessive that get burnt off because even after a long run pipes feel a bit slimy, like there was still some acf left on them. I am not saying it is the best solution, all I am saying is that I have been using acf on all my bikes and never had any issues with rust (at least on those most crucial areas). Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - Noj - 05-01-14 ACF50 gets my vote. Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - Strifae - 05-01-14 I put the acf50 in a small perfume type bottle then leave the container in boiled water for about 5 minutes then it comes out like a very fine mist Cover entire bike with it very easily and looks fantastic - no rags required Re: ACF50 - Not Convinced? - goldfazer - 05-01-14 'Test carried out by David Angel of F2 Motorcycles Ltd' Dave Angel: Eco Warrior |
