Rain rain and even more rain
Posted by: BBROWN1664 - 17-01-14, 11:15 AM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

I cannot remember a time in my life where it has rained so heavily for so long as we have had in recent weeks.

Near where I live, many roads are flooded and unpassable in a normal car. I have lived in this area now for over 25 years and cannot remember some of the locations that are flooded today having ever flooded before.

  Indicator issues
Posted by: Marbro - 17-01-14, 09:48 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi guys
Just wondering if you guys might be able to help with a little issue i have.

My bike was laid down by the previous owner, damage not to bad. Dented tank etc.

But along with that, both front indicators were missing. So i bought another set and installed them.

They worked fine, but lately , they dont. Fuses are fine etc, no wiring shorts that i can find. Thing is, once i pull the fuse to check it, and place it back the indicators work again.

what should i look for?

Front end follow up to recent R6 shock upgrade
Posted by: Camshaft - 17-01-14, 08:33 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Just raised the forks through the yokes by 11mm to compliment the recent R6 shock upgrade.
I had to make a couple of 11mm spacer/bush's to sit the GYT-R bar blocks on as the underside of the bars gave only a 1-2mm gap to top of fork adjusters. I removed the studs and replaced them with zink plated bolts as couldn't find any longer studs from various fastener suppliers.

Now tomorrow for a ride to see he she feels  :rolleyes

  Gear change lever
Posted by: fireblake - 16-01-14, 09:56 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

I'm experiencing a very stiff gear selection,  this has only just happened on my ride home tonight.  Does anyone know if there is a bearing on the pivot point that connects to the foot peg?

Thanks In advance

Mickey

  Ignition/key problem
Posted by: redthunder - 16-01-14, 08:25 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (28)

Sat on the bike this morning was stumped why the key wouldn't turn. Sprayed some wd40 down it and got it turned to on and got to work. Leaving work this evening same problem, wouldn't turn from off to on position. A gentle wiggle or two in the right direction and a soft whisper of please please please and it popped into on for me. This is the first time it's been a problem.

Key is quite worn and the only one I got with the bike, should I look to try get a new key cut or would the barrel be the problem? Any tips on cleaning the barrel?

And worst case is replace it - I have a 02 fox eye, what options have I got for replacing it for a new one?

Thanks  Smile

anyone know much about contract law?
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 16-01-14, 04:13 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

B-i-l supplies a fixed term service to the local council who financially penalise him if the exact terms of the contract are broken and if HE wants to terminate the contract early the council will charge him a pro rata fee for non compliance with the terms of the contract.
Now the council wants to end the contract 2.5 years early because they need to save money, or so the consultants they have employed say!
He realises that if he contests the decision he will probably be blacklisted but as he thinks he'll retire when the contracts expire is it worth stirri.g up the shit?
