Hi guys wondering if anyone out there can offer me any advice on the following. I've got a few paint chips on both my wheels so am thinking of getting them powder coated. I've found a number of places who do the powder coating but you have to take the wheels off yourself. I'm not confident taking my own wheels off in fact I'm sure I'd fuck it up somehow. So I want to know of any powder coaters (ideally in the north east) where you can ride in get your wheels removed,  painted and ride out.
Also I was wondering can you put the same tyres back on the rims after painting or does removing them damage the beading?

As you all know, Project Fazer needs a redesigned backside (when it comes to bikes, I'm an arse man. Because they look the tits.  ).  So far, I've been look for the old R1 tail fairings, but not having much success. A few other designs that have caught my eye have been the R6, the Duc 916 and the Yam FZR400. All completely different, all could look really cool with the underseat zorsts.

Any other ideas? Any links to cheap bits for me? I don't really want to pay more than about £50 for the plastics.

I have only had my new Fazer8 a couple of week. But i am thinking have i done the right thing. Now what i would like to ask is, how does the Fazer1 compare to the Fazer8.  Would i enjoy the Fazer1 more after being use to a vfr1200 over the Fazer8.  My wife is happy to have the Fazer8 and then use her 2012 xj6f as px for a Fazer1.  What is worrying me is i don't want to get the Fazer1 and find its just the same as the Fazer8, as once the deal on the next bike is done there is no going back or changing it.  I want a bike that i can still have a play on, but also eat up the miles on a long trip and also do some 2 up riding as well on.  I am finding it hard as i have had big bikes over the past 8 years starting off with the old kawasaki zx10 then a suzuki dl1000 then a hayabusa and then the vfr1200.  i got the speed out of my system with the hayabusa so i'm not after speed now. want a bike that i'm not hurting after a long ride out.


My short list is:


Fazer1
zzr1400
xjr1300
CB1300




I dont want to spend no more than 9k, but can push to 10k for the right bike. Dont want another vfr12 as i never buy the same bike.

This is for my KZ hence general forum.

I've just rebuilt the starter, and when I plugged it back in to the battery I got a spark and not much else. I'm sure I've assembled it correctly, but obviously not. What would cause this? Sounds like a short somewhere but not sure where

As above - any tips?  I am battling to get this right and was hoping to avoid launching anymore across the garage floor.  Was thinking of supporting hed so the valve ssits vertically as i seem to be fighting gravity too.  So fiddly!

I have for sale this Ohlins shock. Originally from Aprilia RSVR, but last year it was rebuilt/serviced (100GBP) to suit my Fazer.
It is in good shape, no leaks - all adjusters work fine.
Asking 200 GBP + postage.
