  Suzuki DRZ400 S /SM

I know its not a fazer, but its my other bike...

Right,
I'm definatly selling this now, as I'm getting another car.
Bike is a 2006 S model, 6.8k on the clocks, (this may grow slightly due to use) I've had it since November last year as I bought it for the winter commute. Lowest MPG I've had is 63mpg as I pretty much only use it on the motorway. Tax till Nov 2014, and MOT till august. I've covered 3k on this bike.
Got a mint set of SM wheels with very good tires with the bike, including a new shorter chain. Swap the wheels, swap the chain also. The wheels include the spacers and SM speedo drive, so its a plug and play half hour to swap the set up over. These wheels include the SM axles, and discs and sprockets also.
The S wheels have very good semi knobbly Bridgestone tires on (will check the model when I get home).
Oil is changed every 1k and oil and filter every 2k. There is a 5 litre semi synth oil, and a pack of four brand new filters included.
Spares include:-
SM Wheels, with more than legal Pirelli tyres, wheels are mint, and include the correct chain, and speedo drive, along with the SM Discs and sprocket.
S wheels with more than legal Bridgestones, its actually ridiculous how much grip these have on the road. Spacers and speedo drive included
Original plastics, yellow and white. These are pretty battered, and have no graphics on.
Brand new black acerbis front mudguard (S model)
Original tail light unit and indicators front and rear
Original S model yellow front mudguard
Original tailpack and bolts
PAIR Blanking plate - never used
Legal rear numberplate and reflector.
Original wingmirrors
Bad bits
The seat is chopped down, which has actually made it comfier on long journeys.
The frame has surface rust the boots rub against it.
The swingarm has loads of chain lube on it at the shock end, as I ride it, a lot, and keep on top of keeping chains lubed up.
Only 1 ignition key, and 1 steering lock key.
The polisport handguards are pretty scratched up.
4 holes in the headlight cowel (5mm diameter for a screen mount) These cannot be seen with the carbon wrapped front numberplate)

The bike is sporting a brand new set of black Acerbis plastics, and graphics, the bike hasn't been ridden since installation.
There is a tailtidy and led light unit on the back with a 6.5 x7" numberplate
There are underslung bar wingmirrors
Bars are renthals with a cross brace.
The standard can is wrapped in carbon fibre film
Im asking £2750ono for the entire bike and spares, bearing in mind the SM wheel kit is worth £400 by itself, and the new plastics and graphics just cost me £130.
Located Central Stafford ST16, 5 mins from j14 of the M6.
New graphics and plastics

The black on the fork legs and subframe is plastidip, a rubber paint that peels off. I put it on to protect the finishes over the winter. Same with the engine cases. Just peels off though, and has left everything clean. This will all be removed, prior to sale.

  Givi Help..
Posted by: JoeRock - 26-05-14, 10:41 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - No Replies

Hi guys,

Having read Kevin's guide on fitting an FZ6 rack to an FZS 600, I was wondering about whether it would perhaps be possible to do a similar thing to my ZX9R!
I was wondering if there was anyone around that had an first gen FZ6, with the Givi Side Pannier rails (PL351) fitted, that could perhaps give me a few measurements?

The three main ones that I'm after are:
The distance (straight line) between the mounting point at the rear footpeg and where the rack bolts to the top box rails (top right as you stand on the left of the bike looking at it)
The length of the bar going from the rear footrest to the square bracket bit that actually holds the pannier
and
The length of the top of that "square bracket" bit?

Hope someone understands what I mean!

Cheers!

Joe

If you get the chance, take a ride on one. They're a serious bit of kit. A stonking motor allied to supreme handling & if you get in trouble a host of electronic aids to keep you in one piece. The bike is bonkers if you want it to be & yet with a choice of soft, medium or hard suspension settings, cruise control & heated grips make this bike much more than a hooligan tool.
I've swapped a few bits out already & will do more this coming winter but really it doesn't need anything, but we all like to mod our bikes don't we.
It'll be touring Europe this year so it'll be interesting to see how it fares, I reckon it'll be a hoot.  Smile

  New boy saying hello.
Posted by: Binders - 26-05-14, 05:27 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hello,
I bought an FZ6n yesterday. 2004 with 5k on the clock. Bought it from a mate who hasn't ridden it for three years! It had been sitting in his garage uncovered and was covered in thick dust. I spent a few hours on it yesterday and now its gleaming. It needs a new front mudguard so if anyone can recommend a good original parts supplier I'd be very grateful. I've got a few other bikes and I'm also on the forums for those too so I'm hoping to tap into your knowledge about the FZ. I haven't owned a Yam for over 30 years, a DT175 twin shock. I'm also after a Bagster tank cover in black for the FZ if anyone has one knocking about.  I've looked at the exhaust mod. Drilling 20mm hole through the baffle? Anyone had any issues with this?
Regards
Steve
