So like all my previous fazers, my latest has the same damn annoying issue with the plastic cracking next to the mounting holes. We have all run into this problem, but due to the scarcity of the parts (in this instance only one infill for my 2007 FZ1 in all of Yamaha Europe) and that was before Brexit/Covid I am looking for an alternative way of repairing cracks on the infill on my FZ1.
So have tried epoxy resin, but its just too brittle. I had considerd plastic weld, but don't know if that will work as some of the ABS plastic on the infill is only 2-3mm thick. So my next idea/plan is to try fine fibre glass mesh on/around the affected area.
My brain is hurting trying to think of a way out of this.
1. oil output restricted so oil prices rise to make sure you are at the front of the queue to buy it
2. oil prices rise - oil companies make more money and tax man takes more tax
3. Joe public and all other companies end up paying more for oil products (oil/gas/plastic etc)
4. Companies have to put up prices to cover costs - not making more money apart from the tax man
5. Joe public pays more for the products - need more pay to cover this and pay more tax
6. Banks put up interest rates to try to reduce the amount of cash we have to stop us spending
7. Companies have to put up prices to cover costs - not making more money apart from the tax man
8. Joe public pays more for the products - need more pay to cover this and pay more tax
9. Banks put up interest rates to try to reduce the amount of cash we have to stop us spending
etc etc etc
The only ones making money out of this are the oil companies and the tax man really - banks making more are a side issue as when they put up the loan rates they generally put up the savings rates too (not that I have savings but some of you lucky feccers do)
The only way out of this I can see is for the UK government to find a way to make North Sea oil and gas the main supplier for the UK, restrict prices on domestic use and remove imports as much as possible and ban exports if they cannot supply the domestic market with what's left. Oil companies will hate this as they will make less money. The government will hate it as it reduces tax income.
We are screwed unless someone can work out another way to stop the never ending madness

Rukka Imatra (Goretex) full leather gloves.
Excellent condition, not worn much.
Shame to part with them, great gloves & 100% waterproof & breathable.
I normally wear a UK10, these fit but are a bit too snug for me, I prefer a looser fit.

Dainese Torque D1 (out) Boots.
Labelled a UK9, feel more like a UK10.
I normally take a UK9.5, there's still plenty of room, hence I'd say they'd likely fit a UK10.
Fantastic boot, lots of great features, tough ankle support, replaceable toe sliders, (rear entry) :lol
Shame to part with them, but I just can't get on with them, my feet prefer Sidi boots.
Only used on few short rides, hence as new condition.
£120 Collected
Collection preferred.
Posted at cost, probably £10 due to size & weight?
Payment via Paypal, or cash on collection.
I'm located near Barnsley S/Yorks.
I was on the step ladder in my garage trying to get a fold up chair down from off the boards on the trusses, pushed a board away from me to get at it, and knocked a 2.5 litre tin of paint off down onto the floor, where the lid flew off and the contents exploded out all over the hydraulic lift platform ( with the fazer on it), the floor and the wall. I shot down and wheeled the bike off the platform 5 metres up the (newly paved £10K) drive, put the bike on its side stand, then realised the the paint was all over the tyres too. Hence a vinyl silk trail from the door to the bike. Much scrubbing and hosing later, the drive is 99% clear, the bike less so. Perhaps 85% clear, and im not concerned about the paint on the tyres and exhaust as that will rub off on the road and burn off. Modern domestic paints dry so quickly these days
I had a stroke on on 4th June, and now I'm out of hospital, I'm in the process of notifying my insurance provider and starting rehab, with all the concerns about how life-changing this is going to be.
Has anyone else any experience of riding after a stroke? Particularly the attitude of insurerers.
Any help much appreciated!
After a period of 7 years I bought another motorcycle. Last bike was an Aprilia Tuono, this time an fz1 from 2006. I hope the fz1 is more reliable than the aprilia Hoping to post some pictures soon.
Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm struggling to find a solution. My bike is a 2002 Fazer 1000 and the other day it started back firing and running very rough at lower revs. I changed the spark plugs as it felt like a misfire but now after a short ride the engine oil seems to be filling up with petrol. it is still running rough and backfiring and also struggling to start. Any ideas where to start would be greatly appreciated.
