If anyone's interested, this site does some good quality & polished Titanium parts.
You can buy direct on the link below or buy via eBay shop.
These aren't necessarily the cheapest, but from personal experience, they're better than some I've bought in the past, just bought a set of front disc rotor mounting bolts for my Gen1 1000. :thumbup
No idea why link has shrunk to Antman dimensions? maybe admin can jump in & correct it's size, but it still works as intended.
Bit of useful info for those interested in fitting the Full Monty jet kit / carb mods / carb rubber porting / airbox lid mod / Piper Cross filter / exhaust can change.
Ivan omitted any info or pics in my jet kit, so messaged him direct via his Facebook page, he sent me the shittiest photo of a cut away airbox lid.
I've basically copied it on my own lid & here are the result via better pics.
Time to hang up my leathers ... or more precisely, invite someone else to hang them up for me. :'(
With both bikes sold a while ago, I'm clearing out all my riding gear and spares. First up my Alpinestars 2-piece leathers. In very good condition, never crash tested and all zips/fasteners in perfect working order.
Size labels say 36" waist on the trousers, 42" chest on the jacket. I found the jacket to be generously sized and had room to wear a full Forcefield back protector underneath.
Comes with knee sliders (not shown on photo) and all internal armour.
Asking £120 plus £15 max for shipping. Shipping cost is an estimate. If it comes out less, I'll charge accordingly.
Hi all, long time lurker. Just thought I would say hello and show you some dirty photos :lol
I went to start the old girl up the other week as last time she wasn't to happy so I put this down to old fuel in the tank, not used it in a year but had a few starts and left running. Put some new petrol in the tank and long story short petrol was leaking down the stand. Would only run on 3 briefly if you tried to start with a bit of throttle.
So I managed to get the carbs off today as I reckon one of the floats is stuck. First thing I found was one of the breather/fuel return pipes on underside of the tank is blocked with crusty rubbish...also a bit in the hose. Other side is clear. Then when moving the air box back there was still some petrol in there and the K&N filter stunk of petrol. So got that out and give that a clean as well.
Getting the carbs off was "fun" but got there in the end, I think putting them back might be more tricky. Anyway as I had been breathing in petrol fumes all afternoon I just had a quick look at two of the carbs....well gunked up and float was stuck on drivers side. Nearside float moved but was sticky. Looks to be long overdue a good clean looking at the state of the internals.
I put a few photos up so you can see.
Just wondering who you use for spares? Dealers... can be expensive. Just found Yamparts and Wemoto after aquick google, good prices but not OEM bits generally.
The dirty photos :lol
It's with a heavy heart that i'm selling my trusty old fzs 1000, 32'000 miles on the clock, 2002 model, i'm after £1500.00, located in Leeds
Priced low for a quick sale, bearing in mind it needs some TLC, hence the low price.
This bike has been my commuter/hack/touring bike for the past 3 years and has been ridden 12 months a year in all weathers, as such it is far from a show bike, with various dings, scratches and general age related wear and tear
The good bits:
I have maintained it mechanically, and in my ownership it's had all the suspension linkage bearings replaced, braided brake Hoses, stainless steel pistons fitted in front brake calipers, carb inlet rubbers replaced, clutch cable replaced, battery replaced with a motobatt recently, tyres replaced a few months ago, Renthal flat bars fitted and forks dropped through the yokes for a sportier riding position/quicker handling, forks stripped and serviced a couple of winters ago, exup valve regularly serviced , and new exup cables fitted.
The not so good bits:
-Looks tired, cosmetic issues, some flaking engine paint, scratches, a couple of small cracks in the fairings, small ding in the tank, rusty bolts and fixings etc. -Big tear in the seat which I've expertly re-upholstered up with gaffer tape -Due a proper service; a few thousand miles past the service interval for a valve check, fluids and filters etc need changing and Carbs could probably do with a strip and clean, chain and sprockets past their best, advisory for head bearings on last mot -I've been advised by a mechanic that the old datatool immobilizer / alarm system should be removed asap to prevent electrical issues later down the line
Despite all this she still pulls harder than a 14 year old boy who's just discovered how to turn off parental controls on the family computer, and can get you from 0 mph to a license ban in a few seconds. I would love to keep her and restore her to her former glory, but i got a good deal on a low mile fz1 last month, and can't justify owning both so this needs to go to free up some space in the shed and recoup some funds.
Please don't send daft offers, it's priced low already, there's plenty of dodgy folk who would list this as a minter and ask for a grand more. throw 500 quid or so at it and this could be a nice tidy bike again, or just do the basics and ride the hell out of it like i did, these bike last forever!

A question for the FOC-U Fount of All Knowledge...
Although I'm a Dyed-in-the-Wool biker, it does have certain drawbacks when it comes to another of my hobbies, ie surfing.
At the moment, if I'm going to to East Wittering, I'm limited to when the surfboard hire shop is open and, of course, also limited to their hire boards.
As such, I was thinking of the possibility of picking up a cheap car that I could keep parked outside and, when the surf is running, chuck my own board inside (or on a roof rack) and head down to catch some waves.
The basic criteria I'm looking at are:
1) Cheap. Probably around the £2-3000 mark at most
2) Low insurance/ VED
3) Not prone to needing expensive repairs
4) Capable of carrying at least a 7'6" surfboard or maybe a 9' longboard either inside or on a roof rack.
5) Reliable enough that I can leave it outside, unused, possibly for several weeks, but that will start when needed.
I know little to nothing about this, hence why I'm asking, so if anyone has some suggestions that will help me get a better idea of what I need and how much it's going to cost to run (and anything else I need to know) that would be great.
As per the title, bought a new to me FZ1 a few weeks ago, which i'm loving, but it came with renthal flat bars installed which i cant get on with as they have next to no pull back and make the seat to bar reach far too long which is a literal pain in the neck on longer rides. If anyone has any stockers going cheap i'd be extremely grateful as there are none on ebay at the moment. Also the stock seat feels like you're sat on a brick and has a ludicrous downward slope that smashes your nuts into the tank, after a better alternative, will pay good money for a decent perch if anyone has one spare, i think there was an official yamaha gel seat at one point?
