  Tail Light LED Upgrade
Posted by: darrsi - 22-10-22, 02:24 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Got bored with the LED tail light with built in indicators, so decided to refit the OEM tail light and upgrade the lights inside to LED.

I'm very happy with the results, and it only cost £10 too.  Smile

  Just a hello before I get started…
Posted by: Likesbikes - 22-10-22, 12:16 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

Hi all, just a quick introduction before I get onto the issues with a slightly poorly Fazer…

Not a Fazer rider myself but recently bought the fiancée a 99 model as her first bike and she loves it. It’s seen better days, little bit rough round the edges but rides nicely enough and perfect for her to get her confidence up. Handles well and stops well for what it is (not to mention for it’s bargain basement price).

The engine isn’t running its best, but I think it’s fixable and have been quietly getting info from the site since I registered a few weeks ago. But will put up a more detailed post in the appropriate section on the issues soon.

But for now just saying hi and looking forward to some of the good knowledge from the long standing members here.

Cheers all, Darren

  Fork help
Posted by: NitramA - 19-10-22, 05:17 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

I’m changing the fork oil following the Haynes manual.

It says to take note on the distance between the damper locknut and the top of the threaded damper rod. I measured it at 15mm.
I remember the guy who changed the fork oil last time commented that he didn’t know what this measurement was and had to Google it to find out.
I wondered if anyone knows if this is set correctly?

Thanks!

  For Sale: Yamaha FZS-1, 2008, 22k
Posted by: MPW12 - 17-10-22, 05:42 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi All,

I have a lovely FZ1-S Fully Faired Gen II, have done for 2 years now, and she is my baby, out twice a week, every week, but unfortunately, I do have a real baby in my life now.. I have just had the bike fully serviced (main dealer) + MOT, but sadly do not ride anymore. I want to, don't get me wrong! But, for the purpose of a newborn, I think I will have to stop for a short period. I am only 26, I have been an all season rider for the past 10 years, so won't be out for long, but do not want the lovely bike to just sit there unused. Does anyone have any advice on what would be best for me to do? I got the bike from a main dealer, and it really doesn't want for anything else.

Details:

  • Full Givi Rack
  • Scott Oiler
  • Yoshimura Exhaust + Power Commander (+Original Exhaust)
  • Comfort Seat
  • Zero Gravity Tinted Screen
  • New Tyres
  • Full Service History
  • Fazer Tank Protector
  • R&G Crash/Paddock Stand Bobbins
  • Currently on only 27,000ish, very well looked after
Personally, I don't want to sell the bike, but I am going to have to, it is a great bike just sitting here unused. This bike was instead of the perfect stepping stone FZS600. What do you think the bike is worth? And is an owners club a place to sell these machines? I look forward to hearing from you all  P.S Photo below  Smile

  New Battery Time
Posted by: FazThou - 15-10-22, 07:46 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else wanting a new battery....
My one finally died (been on the bike for about 6/7 years so not done bad)
So i looked online and found Tanya batteries, and ordered a new YT14B-BS thursday evening and it was delivered friday lunchtime
Excellent service and cheaper than Halfords who couldnt deliver until next week.

  T629 AFP
Posted by: CFW230 - 12-10-22, 07:04 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi everyone, I'm trying to track down my old FZS600 (T629 AFP) Last thing I know about it is that it was sold to Webbs (Eye) which has now closed about 14 years ago.  It's MoT expired over a year ago according to the gov.uk site.  I know this is a longshot but any information would be appreciated. Thanks

  Likely or not?

Much on social meja can be misleading/untrue etc. This engine oil additive is claimed to take the S2 up to 108 HP, that's a relative whopping increase. I'm inclined to think its an extravagant claim. Any thought anyone?
