Intake rubbers brass tube angle
Posted by: NJH_95 - 24-07-22, 06:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

Hello,

A new FZS1000 owner from Finland here. Big Grin When I bought the bike I noticed that the inlet rubbers needed replacing. I bought an unused set from from an online market place from a private seller and upon installation I noticed that the brass tubes are angled wrong towards the valve cover.

Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to maybe try to fix the angle of the brass tube? There might be a risk of an intake leak but maybe somehow?

Thanks in advance-NJH

London Borough of Hackney: Proposed parking charges
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 24-07-22, 09:31 AM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

If you live or work in Hackney, you need to be aware of this

Save London Motorcycling (SLMC) have started a petition against Hackney's plans for Motorcycle parking. We need as many people to sign this petition as possible and as of writing has 3000 signatures, so please sign and share below. This is how SLMC forced Camden to listen to us, if we get enough signatures to this maybe we can do the same with Hackney  -

https://www.change.org/p/stop-plans-for-...32ca258f92

To recap, their plans are that from autumn 2022:

 • All motorcycles and scooters, petrol and electric, to be charged the same prices as cars.
 • Residents permits up to £850 a year.
 • Business permits up to £1800 a year.
 • Solo motorcycle bays charged at up to £6 an hour - yeah you read that right, PER HOUR!
 • Banning commuting with 4 hour maximum stay limits in most bays.
 • Petrol & Electric PTW’s are included.

If you oppose these changes please sign and share the above petition, you can also add a comment explaining how the changes will affect you. If Hackney are allowed to make these devastating changes, it will also set a terrible precedent across all London boroughs.

Facts have no meaning in Hackney

On Monday 18[sup]th[/sup] July, a deputation to the Council by MAG representative Cathy Phillpotts provided evidence demonstrating factual errors in the report.  Looking at the wording of the report it is clear that these errors are directly used to contradict the wisdom of survey respondents.  The report states -

“respondents felt motorcycles were better for the environment compared to cars, vans and lorries. However, this is contradicted by research that shows that motorcycles contribute heavily to dangerous nitrous oxide (NO2), and Particulate Matter (PM10) pollutants on a par with vehicle counterparts.”

It is hard to understand how factual inaccuracies that serve as the only justification for a policy decision can be viewed as inconsequential.  The very basis for the Council decision has been accepted to be factually incorrect. Hackney Council is apparently willing to misrepresent and then ignore facts to bypass the will of its constituents and common law. Full details can on the above report can be found here - https://www.mag-uk.org/hackney-cling-to-...g-charges/

And if you live in Hackney, please contact your councillor - https://hackney.gov.uk/find-your-councillor

Looking for my old Fazer 1000
Posted by: Billbott - 21-07-22, 12:12 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

I noticed earlier that my old Fazer 1000 is currently on SORN without an MOT
Don't suppose anyone on here has it or knows of its whereabouts?
It is (was?) Galaxy Blue, with a silver engine.
Registration No ends with ENJ
I part exchanged it in 2008 but it sat in the dealers showroom in Accrington for a year before it was sold.
From memory it was traded back in there a couple of years later.

Hey peepz

Im replacing the oil, seals and bushings in the forks of my '02 1000, i have done seal replacements and rebuilds more times than I ever should have had too (wheelies can get expensive) with all my bikes over the years without many issues [shadow=red, left]UNTILL NOW![/shadow]

when putting the forks back together and driving the seals home, the outter/upper fork guide bushing is not going into its recess in the fork lower properly, which obviously stops me from setting the seal properly and installing the retaining clip. :wall  Everything seems straight and square it just will not fit. The bushing was even put in the freezer the help with installation.

The bushes were ordered from brook suspention (NOX brand), far as im aware the parts are correct and are the new spec bushes that supersede yamahas original spec.

Lower/Inner/slide BUSHING
Thickness 1.00mm
Outer diameter 43.70mm
Inner diameter 41.70mm

Years of manufacture and engine colours
Posted by: Wallace - 19-07-22, 09:55 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Evening All,

I just sold my Aprilia and now looking for later model FZ1. I've had a good read through the forum-lot's of great information but can't find an answer to my question.

Am I right in thinking the last ones were produced in 2012? I'm looking for a blue/ white one but seen them up to 2014- old dealer stock?

Also engine colours- did earlier ones have silver ones or was it an option? I found a post about exhaust end can colours so that's a great help.

Thanks!

'98 tank overflow hoses routing - HELP
Posted by: Frasier - 18-07-22, 03:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hello All,
I forgot to take photos while disassembled the bike, now I don't know where went the two rubber hoses, which comes from the fuel tank. I know theres a black rubber funnel on the later bikes, but mines is the old one, with two longish, separate hoses plugged into the bottom of the tank, and they go towards the ground...somewhere. So, anybody has some photos, or can explain it, where to route these, please? Left, right, between the carbs, or? Also, I'm not sure about the two overflow hoses of the carbs, too... these are too short, to reach below the swingarm.... any ideas?
Thank you in advance!
