  Fuel Cap Breather
Posted by: darrsi - 11-02-17, 01:24 PM - Forum: General - Replies (53)

Been looking around the internet and not found much, but was wondering if there's a  breather vent or hole that can be cleaned or poked on the fuel tank cap at all?

  FZS 600 1998 and parts
Posted by: sinto607276 - 10-02-17, 08:16 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (21)

Hello all,
I'm selling my 600 from 1998 on a R plate, looking for £950

Red (the fastest colour) Wink
Standard bike
33,088 miles
Recent front & rear sprocket & chain
Recent front fork seals and 15w oil
Recently had valve shims and gaps checked by a local garage (receipt available) and all is well
12 months MOT
New rear tyre
Plenty of life in front tyre
Rear hugger/chain guard
Front fender extender
Brand new still in packaging front & rear set of pads
Tools
Haynes workshop manual
Loads of previous MOT's & paperwork

This is a good honest bike with plenty of history although I've done all the servicing myself since I've owned it over the last two years, the only reason I'm selling it is that I have carpal tunnel syndrome on both wrists and will need to wait a long while to get them fixed, so no point it sitting there and I've also got my head set on changing it to go for a Pan European.

Based in Glasgow

I've also got some extras for sale.....
R6 rear shock.....£150
Black Widow Stainless steel downpipes....£150 (rrp £270?)
Max Torque Cans end can, oval, carbon, street legal and removable baffle......£150
[Red]WILL DO CAN AND DOWNPIPES TOGETHER FOR £280 (plus p&p)[/Red]
Hyperpro front fork springs (with spacers)....£30 [Red]SOLD[/Red]
Fazer 1000 rear brake caliper and modified hanger.....£80SOLD
Stainless radiator guard....£25 SOLD
Clutch & Brake lever foldable and adjustable levers (red/black)...£5
(All plus postage at cost)

Any questions, feel free to ask :-)

  Centre Stand Siezing
Posted by: Neon Knight - 10-02-17, 07:15 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

My old FZS 600 boxeye has many slightly annoying quirks but this one really gets my goat. Despite fairly regular spraying with wd 40 and all in one oil it keeps partially siezing and making impossible to put the bike on the stand. Is there anyway of ending this recurring problem before I take it off and bin the bloody thing entirely. Any advice much appreciated. Ta  :eek

  FOR SALE - Blue FZS 600 51 PLATE - Spares/Repairs MOT 01/2018 -£500 Pics in link

https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-motorbik...1215667972
PICS and Gumtree Ad. May break if enough interest.

Its a nice bike, I would say too nice to break but has engine problem, (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,21682.0.html)
- the simplest solution would be a replacement engine, never did get to bottom of problems, but it is probably a  valve seal/gasket - it is def. blowing oil through , possibly also coolant too, oil was emulsified but no oil in coolant,

Ignore Gumtree price it can go cheaper to folks on here, will take £550 or near - if cant get that will break it.

-Be aware it needs collecting from Campbeltown (West Highlands- approx 3 hrs drive WEST of Glasgow)

Thanks

  GlPro Gear Indicator
Posted by: tommyardin - 09-02-17, 06:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

Hi guys a little advice if someone can assist.
I have just taken possession of a new GlPro digital gear postion /change indicator and the first thing in the instructions is 'Locate the Speed Sensor Coupler' well I know where the speed sensor is, it's on the front axle, but, where the foc the coupler is in amongst all the junction boxes/connectors I have not a clue.
Any advice gratefully received as it my plan to fit the little beast tomorrow.

  FZS600 sprocket offset

Need to find a straight spoke Suzuki rear wheel to match the new front. Don't suppose anyone knows the offset of the stock rear wheel?

Plenty of details re the Suzuki wheels and sprocket carriers but not the Yamaha ones

  Another clutch question
Posted by: Graham53 - 08-02-17, 10:41 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

following my recent radiator disaster on my 1000 while I'm waiting for a radiator to come from trumpland, I'm going to get my 600 going to relieve my boredom and lack of 2wheeled fun
Anyway back to the question my 600 clutch before taking off the road had dragging a bit and upon closer inspection the outside of the basket it's looking very scored which I've never seen before, oil was changed and no metal flakes/ shards and it's definitely scored with grooves all around.
Anyone got ideas as to why ??? I haven't but I've got a 5000 mile spare lump that IVe got in the shed and that clutch basket is factory fresh no scoring so my plan is to swap the baskets/plates.
Next question is , does anyone know if the plates from the spare lump which has been in the shed for a year will be ok to use straight off the lump or should I take them off and soak them in oil in case they've dried out or is there a possibility they're focced and I should buy new ones.
