  What's your thoughts??
Posted by: nordboy - 25-02-17, 04:34 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

Been a long time lurker on the site. I've been toying with a Gen 1, Fazer thou ever since the banter days of me owning a hornet. I never quite found the right one at the right time though.

Anyway, I've not had a bike for 6 months or so, and have withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately with a son in Uni, my budget is a bit limited.

I have found a '54 reg Gen 1, grey with black engine model, that I can get for £2000 delivered from a dealer. (i can't seem to upload an image, i'll try a link)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-YAMAHA-FZ...SwB-1YsUjl

The bike has done 60k miles but looks in above average condition for that amount. There is no documented service history, but a bit encouragingly, the previous owner paid for a major service at a main dealer that included valve clearances etc. 12 month MOT, akrapovic exhaust, hpi clear. I've been assured the bike runs really well.

I've never bought a bike without seeing it, but I'm just not going to be able to get to see it.

I know that if looked after the bikes will eat that sort of mileage, I guess I'm after a bit of reassurance, lol

Does it seem reasonable?? thanks in advance.

I've been looking at a few of these on eBay, and the newer 'silver dot' ones seem to be cheaper than the blue dots...

does anyone know if these will fit a boxeye Fazer OK?

Posted by: youngsterbiker - 24-02-17, 10:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

So I "won" a free dyno power run... the bike is 17 years old... and i was hoping for a solid 85 bhp.... how wrong I was.. shes running 80.65 bhp... Not a bad number but would have liked to have seen better..
Now here's the problem, the air/fuel mixture seems to go mad at 5000 revs. The guy running the dyno has suggested a new air filter as a quick cheap fix. Poor guy had long queue so I did not ask more questions.
Can anybody think of anything that could help solve the problem?
Bike is a 2000 fzs 600, only change is aftermarket exhaust. Smile
Cheers.

Alright chaps,
Names Scott and im from Northumberland. Had my 2001 Fazer for about 2 years now and love it. Done the norm since I've had it, new end can, K&N filter, clear lenses, chain and sprocket. Looking to add new bars and levers soon.

Curious as to the effects on the engine when having pinched fuel tank Vacuum pipes? And how to create a straight route from the tank base to the floor with causing this issue?

  Did you survive Dorris
Posted by: fazersharp - 23-02-17, 10:53 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

Looks like Sharp Hall survived but at least a couple of houses around these parts are now missing a ridge tile, a couple of fences have had a make over too, I got hit a couple of years ago loosing 8 ridge tiles.
Anyone make the mistake of covering the bike and making a sail for the wind to blow it over for you.

First Race of the season this weekend :woot
Fingers crossed for Kyle Ryde in WSS this year team mate to Sofoglu a Brit to watch this year me hopes
Alex Lowes  will probably fall off I am a fan but wish he'd ride like he did in BSB or stay upright
Chaz Davies hopefully will stop Johnny Rea from being the first to win 3 champs on the trot
Tom Sykes will get  pole positions but will mostly loose races to Johnny Rea sad but true
Eugene Laverty on the Aprillia , its not looking good right now and sadly I think that will be the case.
Arse about face grid on the second race that will be interesting and strange plus new tech regs ,the new WSS 300 series as well it's looking like it's going to be an exciting year of racing
