I'll just introduce myself - James from Earl Shilton.  I picked up my FZS in the new year secondhand, and it's currently sat in my garden awaiting fixing!


I want to get back into biking after 6 odd years of car ownership.  I'm looking forward to getting it on the road ready for summer

Apologies as this has probably been asked numerous times before, but I'm after a guide on replacing my indicators with LEDs.
I've found this post: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,38.0.html but the last few pictures aren't working.
The text is pretty good in that post, so I'd imagine I could get by with it, but was wondering if there's another guide somewhere with all of the pictures?

Have you fitted a steering damper from another bike ?

I have tried searching but so I have not been able to find if my clutch action is normal or not, so far it's the only thing on the bike that I'm not loving. The clutch seems to bite really late towards the end of the lever travel, it doesn't appear to slip under load and gear changes are nice and smooth. The bug issue is I don't feel confident in trying to launch the bike quickly away from a standstill because of it.

Is this normal, is there anyway to adjust it so I can get the bite point a little further in towards the handlebar, I have a set of adjustable levers coming, normal length as I've never really got on with short levers, but the levers shouldn't make any difference to the bite point.

Any ideas peeps?

Right so had wing mirrors off when taking front fairing off and I can't for the life of me find the spacers that sit between the bracket and fairing! Really hope you guys know what I'm in about?! Needing help in sourcing some as can't fix on wing mirrors without them! Hope you good fellas can help! Cheers

I'm thinking of changing both tyres instead of just the rear worn one and thinking wi th a two up tour coming up in early summer possibly going to bt023 s or similar, anybody got a recommendation for a decent grippy tyre that's good in the wet and will tour well too? Cheers fellers..

Just been looking at the Eurosport schedule and they list live coverage for MotoGP Qatar on 26th March. Thought this was only available through BT sport- am I missing something here??

Hello folks picking up my first bike tomorrow learnt on a fazer 600, so can't wait to give the fz1 a go, very inexperienced but a fast learner.

Hi folks, gonna have a go at the valve clearances, bikes at 28odd K. I know i dont need to remove the carbs (thanks to PieEater) But just wanted to ask if i still have to remove the fairing and thermostat housing (as per Haynes manual) to get the valve cover off? AIS has been removed.
Also, my feeler gauges are not tapered, will this matter?
