Starting up for Spring, or not! |

Hi all, had the Fazer off road over winter, indoors at work, so dry. Did my usual winter strip down and done maintanence as required, put the whole thing back together and it won't start. All lights work, the battery is a year old and has been on an Oxford optimiser, when I press the starter button, nothing, no sound, no clicking, the neutral light stays nice and bright. The engine kill switch works as I can hear a relay clicking when I try that switch. I have had the rear mudguard out so I could clean the rear end properly. Much use of GT85.
Any thoughts please?

Can somebody remind me of the name of the foreign company that was selling new OEM Fazer parts? I need a Gen 1 centre stand in good condition. Happy to look at second hand.
Thanks

Heated Grips |

my new to me Fazer has heated grips. That weren't working. But on further inspection the fuse was removed. I also noticed that it's just supplied direct from the Pos and Neg on the battery. So I imagine a battery drain caused the fuse removal. I fitted a fuse, and they do work on all four settings Oxford system.
So where do people generally take the positive from to prevent a flat battery.

FZ6 dragging brakes? |

Recently, when trying to get my FZ6 out of the shed, I found it very difficult to push and found that the front brakes were seeming to drag on the discs.
There's always been a bit of noise when pushing it because of the twin-pot floating caliper design, but this was worse than that.
I've squirted some brake cleaner behind the pads and pushed them back with a screwdriver between them which helped (it doesn't feel like it requires more than the usual effort to push), but I've got an MOT coming up pretty soon and I'm a bit concerned that the front wheel doesn't spin freely enough (if I give it a good shove with my hand it only makes about half a revolution before coming to a stop because of drag from the brakes).
I really don't want to have to disassemble the calipers if I don't have to, so does anyone have any useful suggestions or comments?

Hi
I have a pair of rear footrests, with the rubber covers on.
A pair of R&G bar end weights in perfect condition.
Pick up from Watton Norfolk.
Any one interested before I bung them on flea bay?
PM if you are
Doggy
