2002 fzs 600
I came to change my rear pads, after the brake had been getting progressively worse. Ive noticed that the pistons are pretty far out and have a lot of corrosion around the rim. Ive taken ther calliper off, split it, got it in the vice but it wont budge with anything i can get on it, short of welding somthing to it.
I gave up for the day, and decided to look for a used caliper.
theres only 1 that i can find on ebay, its £90 and its in spain.......
so, i may have to put new pistons in this, but as the pistons are corroded-theres traces of corroded rubber, presumably a seal where it come out too far, i'm worried that bthe bore may be knackered too.
Is there any other callipers that people have used on the rear, as these seem pretty scarce, and expensive for what they are......
if not, has anybody had any dealings with re doing the pistons? ive seen stainless ones on wemoto, but its going to be about £70 for those......
An expensive day, as i probably need to replace the disc as well.....
Thanks in advance for your help

quick question, does anyone have any idea why my fz1 could be starting to bog down between about 1800 and 2600 (roughly) rpm??
She has a pc5 with jondaddy82 map, copperdawg flies, remus powercone slip on, and airbox mod. Last night I took out the middle cat and took a test run this evening, strangely enough it seems to be running smoother and with a little more power above 3500 rpm. But under this, especially over the first few miles, the bike seemed to struggle and bog down.
Will the bike compensate for this at all even with the o2 sensor unplugged??? or do I need to bite the bullet and get to a dyno??
Otherwise, what a fecking awesome bike, had it for 6 months and just getting to give her the riding she deserves now=D

Hello all, it's been awhile, hope you're all well?
OK to the point.
2004 grey import, 30K, full service, good oil used always, new EBC clutch pads, new clutch cable, all set correctly but for the life of me I can't get rid of the notchy gearbox, as some have mentioned in their own posts it seems to be 1st and 2nd gear, doesn't matter if the bikes hot or cold at times it's like a spoon in porridge trying to find first :'(
I had a 2001 Fazer thou previously and that was silky smooth but it had a 1/3 of the miles on the clock. Yesterday on the run back from the north it was fine and even changed up with no clutch but then as soon as I was back to having to go down to first and second (pulling upto junctions or lights) the notchiness and sloppy feel started again.
HELP!!! (is this normal? is it down to some bikes? or is the box on it's way out???)
thanks in advance

So while doing the forks i have noticed the head bearings are notchy, quite bad, so need new. Now when i look at the Yamaha parts its about £100.
I have seen the Marksman kit http://shop.marksman-ind.com/yamaha-fz1-...3350-p.asp, from what i read the tapered bearings are better was will last longer, if i buy the marksman kit will i need anything else for the job? Better to replace any wee cheap parts while in there is they are perishable.
Seen this topic http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,7518.0.html and it has me a bit worried on that the parts will all fit fine? There is a rubber washer mentioned, any idea on part number?

Thinking of removing the fairings from my 01 Fazer... previous owner did an awful job with some projectors and i think the bike looks better without the fairings anyway...
Anyhow what i need is a Recommendation of a single headlight unit to buy? i don't have 100's to spend i just want a nice looking single round headlight with a beam pattern legal in the UK...Ebay is awful for Chinese aftermarket shit now which to be honest i would buy but none have an answer for me on beam patterns they all say they have no clue which is annoying why sell something you've no f**king clue about...
Thanks for any Recommendations guys i couldn't really find anything on the forum about it.
P.S ... i mean this looks ok and would solve the having to mount the indicators problem but the beam pattern is probably everywhere on them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331962801210?_...EBIDX%3AIT
