Recently changed the ageing Bridgestones on my bargain basement FZ6 to a set of Metzeler's latest Roadtec 01 tyres and my bike is transformed!
Sure, tyre technology has moved on but as I use my Fazer in all weathers for commuting and a few spirited weekend blasts, needed something that worked everywhere, including greasy London roads.
Wet weather performance is incredible — hardly any warm-up time and none of that vague 'don't want to turn' feeling for the first few miles. Totally confident on the 'cleaner' wet roads and even in town amid all the usual urban detritus I've had no slips or slides — yet.
Dry performance is good too, up there with sports tyres of just a few years ago — pegs down tells me I've enough grip anyway!
They've certainly changed my view of sports touring tyres anyway — plus they've lasted well with no signs of squaring off 2,000 miles later. Properly impressed, really can't recommend these excellent hoops enough!

Just checked the valves on my 2000 FZS 600. 57000km. All within spec. Altough Cylinder 1 Exhaust was at minimum. And Cylinder 2 showing some higher numbers on exaust.
Can anyone explain a little bit why C2's exhaust is a lot higher than C1 and C4? Should i check again in ... 15000km instead of next 42000? Is it possible that they would go faster out of spec seeing this? Can C1 Exhaust go below spec soon? What's standard from factory, high or low?
What I'm asking really is how do valves live their small little lives
Code: Cy1 Cy2 Cy3 Cy4
Exhaust 21 | 21 27 | 27 25 | 26 23 | 21
