Osram LED Cool White Back/Stop light bulbs
Posted by: tommyardin - 08-07-17, 05:50 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hello Fellow Foccers,
Before you get excited about the LED Back/Stop light bulbs, one post in here was going on about how bright they are, believe me they are NOT in fact they give out about half the light of the standard incandescent bulb. The LED bulb itself 15 LED diodes so you would think would be incredibly bright
(All work for brake light some work for rear light)
The issue with them is that the LED's are round the side of the bulb and none on the top or end of the bulb so none of them face the rear (See attached Photo) honestly they are worse than useless.
Sorry Osram 'Must try harder'

If one of you wants to try them I will gladly give them to you with all the packaging, and, I will gladly pay the postage to get rid of the hopeless pieces of crap.

EvilBay link to SHIT bulbs.

If you want them the first person to message me will become the unfortunate owner.

A massive thanks to Mike, Nick and George for making me very welcome today in Eaglesham at Nick's house. It was an educational experience watching Mike working on my bike which he made look effortless and spoke me through the whole process. What a difference this makes as you guys that have already had the full Monty done know. Thanks to Nick for making me feel at home and thanks to George for taking me out a spin so I didn't get lost!! Oh and thanks for the burger it was lovely. I've never been happier with my bike!!!! Cheers!

  Help with fork rebuild
Posted by: the cueball - 07-07-17, 05:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hello foccers....

So I've done my fork seals, bushes and rebuilt 1 fork with no issues...

The second one however is doing my head in... the damper bolt isn't sealing properly and is now leaking oil out.

I've got the damper rod held properly, so it's not spinning.

At first I torqued it up to the correct 30 NM spec as per the service manual.

Then I've hit it with the impact driver... both on the bench, and built up (minus the oil) on the bike.

I've taken it apart several times and made sure all the threads on the bolt and rod are clean and have no damage.

Everything I've done so far doesn't stop the oil dripping out... it's not a heavy flow, just drops every minute or so.... but obviously I don't want to rebuild the bike and use it knowing this...

Has anyone had this before?!?

Any other ideas to solve it?

cheers!!

Smile

  Ear Plugs
Posted by: HarryHornby - 07-07-17, 08:04 AM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

I've always worn earplugs when riding and have always brought a job lot from earplugsbypost.com  It's that time again when I need to by a new pack.  My current ones  are 3M 1100.

Always good to have new ideas, so, what do you use?  Either disposable of those "posh" molded ones.

  Exup bushes removal question
Posted by: Graham53 - 06-07-17, 11:35 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

I decided to take the plunge and service my Exup and what a nightmare it's turned into  :'(
i think the previous owner had decided to service it himself and possibly may have lost some of the components upon dis assembly and the decided to just bodge it back together, the only plus side to this saga is all the bolts came out easily. Firstly the pulley centre bolt had been replace with an Allen bolt which rubbed on the inside of the cover, then there was no washer but there was a spring which was half worn away, then there was no spacer at the rear instead just the worn remnants of a stepped washer and the bushes and valve worn very badly.
I managed to get a good used valve and front plate off the flea bay but the front plate has snapped cover bolts so I think my best bet is fit new bushes to my plate and downpipes but they look well tight in there. Is there any easy way to remove/replace the bushes or would it be easier to drill out the snapped cover bolts on the replacement which is a good fit with the exup valve then all I've got to do is replace the rear bush on the downpipes
I've attached a few pics to show what I found, the 1st one is what replaced the rear 3mm spacer

I have aftermarket down pipes and a standard end can on my FZS600 and there is an additional link pipe between the two which has a hole in it.

Anyone got one spare they want to sell?

  Bike Insurance Cancelled!
Posted by: dickturpin - 06-07-17, 09:45 PM - Forum: General - Replies (32)

Anyone had this before?...just received an email advising that bike Insurance would be cancelled in one week with no reason why in the email. I went to a link it sent me which was a letter they have posted to me where it says last insurers have failed to issue proof of NCB.
I have proof from last insurers but no-one has asked me for it!
Not sure who are the biggest toss3rs...last insurers or new ones?
Will I now have to declare having an insurance cancelled?
