  Forum speed
Posted by: lew600fazer - 19-06-17, 09:21 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

The speed is slowing down again.
Why does this happen I am a few forums bikes and others but this has to be the slowest of the lot,
Below is a post from the MT09/FZ09 forum which I have just been on. It is as fast as fu-k any chance we can change.
Oh must admit the MT09/FZ09 forum has not got the craic or banter that we have here. I am not moaning as I enjoy being on here , just asking the question.

Hi Everyone. I just moved the site to a new faster server with SSD drives. Let me know if you notice a difference in the site speed or if you notice any bugs

  Seat discomfort
Posted by: otley - 19-06-17, 02:25 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (12)

Hello there,

I've just come back from a long run up to the lakes on my 2009 Gen 2 FZ1S and gosh, my bottom is sore! All those poorly surfaced B and unclassified roads. I need a better padded, more comfortable seat. I hear mention of a factory Yamaha 'Comfort seat', but cannot find any for sale anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get one, or are there other options?

Thanks in anticipation, he said, somewhat stiffly.

rear shock upgrade for touring 2 up
Posted by: b_1_rd - 19-06-17, 12:11 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

Hi all

Could you advise me which would be the better upgrade for the rear shock. This would be for touring 2-up.

I would guess at, with everything loaded and the two of us on the bike, would be around 28 stone / 178 KG (shhhhh, no comments pleaseĀ  :b )

is the R6 or S1000RR likely to be better?

thanks

Oil pump chain slack fzs 1000
Posted by: kilofazer - 18-06-17, 08:06 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Recently I did some maintenance with chlutch, and after removing cluch basket I have seen that oil pump drive chain is very slack. Is it normal or I have to replace it?

Fazer in my garage and needs a little love. Service, carb tune and MOT and good to go. Hopefully it will fly through the MOT!

I can't wait to get my mod2 ticket and put some miles on the Fazer!!

Cheers

  I'm back....
Posted by: oddbob13 - 18-06-17, 01:24 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Well, after several other bikes, I've gone back in time and bought a 2003 Fazer 600.

It's in lovely condition, but being 14 years old it has picked up a few little problems in the 14,000 miles it's traveled.

Yesterday I had a go at balancing the carbs and sorting the freeplay on the throttle (there wasn't any!), will find out how good a job I've done today, I hope.

But there's one thing I need some help on - I suspect it may have been lowered at some point, it didn't feel like it wanted to turn and the side stand seems close to the ground when extended, I also seem to remember my original 2003 bike being a bit higher in the saddle, maybe I'm heavier and it's just squishing down more...... does anyone know what length the standard dog-legs are on the suspension?

  Handlebar vibration extra damping
Posted by: Carlsv8 - 17-06-17, 04:19 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Anyone put extra weight inside their handlebars to damp out vibration, I've renthal ultra lows with RG end weights but there is still an annoying vibration there, I was thinking of kiln dried sand, lead shot or brass internal bar, approx. 13mm diameter by 150mm long. Any thoughts ?
