1997 one owner FireBlade for sale. County Durham - Sold
Posted by: Carlsv8 - 22-06-17, 03:17 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (6)

<blockquote>1997 Honda FireBlade RRV. One owner (me) from new, 28k miles.
Contrary to good selling practice I'm going to list the bad points first. RHS has some minor fairing marks and indicator hole has 2 x 5 mm cracks. (Pictures if reqd.) PSH up to 16k (4 years then serviced by me), original suspension and chain & sprockets (it has had that easy life), minor corrosion on the exhaust, MOT has expired, few normal marks from use (she is 20 years old). RHS fork seal has slight weep. Sorned.
Now the good points.
Always garaged, never ridden in the winter, never wheelied, all original paperwork from new. In the last 1000 miles she has had new tyres (BT 016, brilliant tyres), battery (yuasa), brake pads, spark plugs, air filter (Honda), oil and filter (Honda), All old MOT certs, Datatag (paperwork) Datatool Veto Evo 3 + original 2 fobs (paperwork), both original keys, renntec sports rack, Remus Grand Prix Oval carbon can (not fitted), tinted screen (original supplied), mini indicators (originals supplied), hugger, scottoiler from new. Lives on an Oxford Optimiser, starts on the button and purrs like a Honda should.. She has never been in an accident or down the road, the levers are original and the engine cases unmarked. The engine is as it left the factory. Haynes manual.
I have a load of pictures that I can send should anyone be interested. Most of you will disagree with this but the engine makes a Fazer sound rough (controversial thing to say on a Fazer forum). These are an appreciating asset now but she is hardly ridden and that's what bikes are for. Medical issue forces sale but I'm in no rush, if you are interested the best thing to do is ring me and I will give a %100 honest appraisal of my bike, I have owned her for 20 years so this is a very reluctant sale.

  Inner diameter of stock downpipes?
Posted by: Freza - 22-06-17, 02:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

Thinking of buying Black Widow downpipes, but I'm not sure if I'd get any power improvements over stock pipes?

The guy at Black Widow says their inner diameter is 32mm, anyone knows stock diameter?

03 Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer Cafe Racer USD fork Swap
Posted by: terjemm - 22-06-17, 01:32 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi,

Want to do a USD fork Swap on my FZS600, but cant seem to find a easy swap..?
I have checked www.allballbearings.com, but it only shows USD swap matches for the 02 YZF600R Thundercat, which might be similar or even the same as the FZS since they share Haynes Manual??

I am also looking for a single side svingarm swap.

I appreciate all the help I can get and i really hope for a simple and easy solution.

Terje

FZ6 for first full licence bike.
Posted by: alymac1471 - 22-06-17, 08:52 AM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Hello, I've just turned 24 I'm 6'2-3 and a competent rider on smaller bikes. I just want to know really if an FZ6 is going to be big enough and fast enough for me. I'd like to be able to keep up with my mate on his R6. I'd like a sports bike but nothing I've tried really suits my build. I wan't to know if the FZ6 has enough power to keep me happy for a year or two. And if so are there any for sale in here?

Thanks

Fazer thou rpms sticking when clutch pulled in changing down only...
Posted by: will6576 - 21-06-17, 08:19 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (9)

As Title, loving my thou but this niggle is doing my head in, bike is 04 with 60k on it, full service recently and clutch strip assemble all good, new clutch cable, Ivans Full monty goes well,
seems to happen when over 4000rpm changing down from 6/5/4/3 when clutch pulled in the rps stick for a second then drop, changing up is a dream short shifting or with clutch pulled, seems worse when bike is warm and better at low rpm's. throttle cable is good and not sticking neither is the clutch cable. you have to plan well ahead when changing down and to allow for that second before the rpms finally drop to change gear,
Thanks for any advice in advance, Motul semi synth 5100 a month ago.
Mark. Sad

Where did all the cheap bikes go?
Posted by: pointer2null - 21-06-17, 07:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Finally talked Drew into doing his bike test so decided to look for a cheap 125 - like I had. Paid about £100 for it.

Bloody hell - what happened to the prices?! The only 125 under £500 was a write off with bits missing. Most of 'em were over a grand!

My 50cc cost £85, The 125 cost about £110 and the 250cc was around £200!
