  Scrambler build
Posted by: Jimmy2wheels - 08-04-18, 09:52 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

I’ve decided to do something with my 2001 fazer. Just to keep me busy, give me a headache, and fill my brains with thoughts that I don’t have time for.

I’ve always liked the look of cafe racers, scramblers, Rat, and brat bikes. So, the plan is to build something lovely looking. I’m not much of a speed guy, I prefer to cruise.

I know a couple of guys on here have built scramblers (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,23400.0.html) so I’d really like to chat about the process with then. I’m looking to put Continental TKC80’s, stick air pods on, scrambler seat, take off the front, etc.

This is something I’m going for...

So the first question I’ve got is, what replacement for the dials have people done?

  Rear Shock Adjustment
Posted by: MikeBike - 07-04-18, 02:27 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hello Guys.
I don´t have the original tool kit. I wish to adjust the rear shock. How can I do it without the the wrench that was on the tool kit? Do you use any conventional wrench without damaging the shock?
Suggestions accepted.
Thanks

  Tool storage
Posted by: MFD - 07-04-18, 01:32 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Thought I'd sort out a tool kit to keep on the Fazer today, so got out the kit I used to carry under the seat on my old GS500 and...

[smg id=3128]

The tray under the seat of the GS was pretty bad; it'd end up with water and dirt from the road under it sometimes. So the tools were wrapped in plastic bags (which wore through) and then a rag, which mostly kept water /in/ rather than out from the looks of it.

The fazer under-seat tray looks clean, so hopefully I'm already ahead, but any bright ideas on bags/etc for storing tools in which might actually keep them dry? Ideally ones which could keep a thin mist of oil inside them too.

Thanks

Remember that feeling when you were a kid waiting for Santa to bounce you up and down on his knee? Oh, no, sorry that's a different story. Remember waking up on Christmas morning and you couldn't wait to open those prezzies.
Well it's Christmas day today for me - collect my (new to me) Fazer Smile :lol :rollin 8)
Having not had a bike for 25 years (and never having owned a Yammie) this is like Christmas. Yes weather is like Xmas too - pissing down!! Still won't dampen the spirits - yeeeehhhaaaa!
