Tool storage - MFD - 07-04-18 Thought I'd sort out a tool kit to keep on the Fazer today, so got out the kit I used to carry under the seat on my old GS500 and... [smg id=3128] The tray under the seat of the GS was pretty bad; it'd end up with water and dirt from the road under it sometimes. So the tools were wrapped in plastic bags (which wore through) and then a rag, which mostly kept water /in/ rather than out from the looks of it. The fazer under-seat tray looks clean, so hopefully I'm already ahead, but any bright ideas on bags/etc for storing tools in which might actually keep them dry? Ideally ones which could keep a thin mist of oil inside them too. Thanks Re: Tool storage - slappy - 07-04-18 How about a small shower / toiletries bag? The type you stick your soap, razor etc when you go on holiday. Usually at least water resistant and cheap. Re: Tool storage - chris.biker - 07-04-18 Could try treating the tools with ACF50. before storing them in a bag. Re: Tool storage - NorthWestern - 07-04-18 Dry tools wrapped in a rag and put in couple of those thick zip lock freezer bags. If you wrap that in another rag so it doesn't rub on owt it will last years and be waterproof. Re: Tool storage - Nemesis - 07-04-18 Have breakdown cover and fill under seat full of munchies :rollin Re: Tool storage - Creaky - 07-04-18 I use a fabric pencil case under the seat of my Fazer. Re: Tool storage - darrsi - 07-04-18 Just my chain and padlock under my seat, sitting on a load of bubble wrap. Top box stores everything else. |
