Hi. For you that have gone naked on your bikes, is it possible for you to post pics on this thread as to what your bikes look like! I am really having a problem in what lights i want to put on my bike as i can't afford a new fairing & most that i have seen on Ebay are either crap or overpriced!!
Sad Sad

  Damper rod bolt
Posted by: Dea-ville - 24-06-18, 01:57 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Hi all, planning to change the front springs soon on my gen 1 fazer thou, i know removal of the damper rod bolt is required when changing seals but is it required when changing the springs? Flicking through the Haynes manual it shows removal of spring & change of fork oil without touching the damper rod bolt.

  Anodizing wheels?
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 23-06-18, 09:16 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Anyone have a clue if the standard gen2 1000 wheels are alloy or steel? And is it possible to anodized them?
I'm wanting them to be the same gold as the forks and the price of buying new gold ones is just a joke so looking at other options?

Lovely condition low mileage FZS 1000 -2005 For Sale £2850.00 ovno
Posted by: thecert - 23-06-18, 09:06 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Up for grabs my dark blue 2005 Gen 1 with only 16,500 miles covered. This is my 3rd thou' over the last fourteen years with only one previous owner prior to my purchase of her in 2011. It has been well looked after in near mint condition with a recent new chain and sprockets fitted and serviced at the same time. It was to be a keeper but I have reluctantly decided to part with her due to back problems and to go for something smaller and lighter. Well worth an inspection you will not be disappointed. Contact Bert on 07809 224066. Thank you.

Mint Condition FZS1000 rear shock for sale- SOLD
Posted by: hopefiendboy - 22-06-18, 09:54 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

Due to a change in plan, I have a mint condition FZS1000 rear shock for sale- bought off Pete from here- just want what I paid for it back so £50 posted would be grand. Based in Edinburgh if collecting. Cheers!!

Here is the original advert:

  • [size=1em]

Original FZS1000 rear shock for sale from a 2002 bike (will fit 2001 to 2005 models) The shock was removed at about 7500 miles and replaced with a Nitron shock (the Nitron shock was an improvement on the original but at over £400 it should have been!)
The shock is in excellent condition with no corrosion and has been sat at the back of my garage boxed up for years. Looking for £45 if collected from Stafford area (ST19 post code area) For an extra £10 will post it to mainland UK - Cheers Pete

  Front engine mount bracket.
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 21-06-18, 09:01 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

As I own a 2004 model FZS 1000  (registered on an 05 plate) I noticed there are two part number prefixes for the front engine mount brace,  5LV  and  1C2  the rest of the numbers are the same.  Anyone know why this is?  What is the difference?  Will they both fit?

  Bogging down
Posted by: Mustang - 21-06-18, 08:41 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

well bugger, after removing the carbs and airbox Tuesday I cleaned the outsides of the carbs as well as I could then took off the float bowls one at a time, took off the jets and nozzles only and gave them a blast of carb cleaner. I didn’t take off the floats or the carb tops. Now when I’m riding it bogs down over 6k revs in top or 9k revs in 2nd or 3rd. Is this likely to be carbs blocked or an air leak? It rides ok at low revs.
