The bike is in very good condition for its age and needs no work. It does have some age related marks, which are clearly shown in the photos. It has been regularly serviced and runs perfectly, no smoke or rattles. It has Michelin Pilot 2s front and rear, both with lots of tread left. The chain and sprockets have done 3000 miles and have been maintained with a scottoiler since installation. The fairings are in excellent condition and have no cracks or repairs. The bike has recently had a new a headrace bearing, and front fork oil and seals fitted. The brake pads have lots of life left. It comes with 2 original keys, the V5 in my name, multiple MOTs, receipts and the original toolkit and a Haynes manual.Custom

Hello again everybody, a few days ago i completed my driving exams (hurray) and took my bike for spin. It was amazing as it should have been, but i ran into some problems (as it shouldnt have been). At around 6.5-8k rpm at full throttle the bike seems like it almost cuts fuel off. Then at 8k right at the power band the bike flies all the way to max rpm. It seems to happen at 2-3rd gear, too scared to try first and not enough space to go 4+ gear :o .
So what are your suggestions? Last owner didnt winterize the carbs, are they the problem? How can the power stop, then come on at full force later?
I have this old Fazer I'm trying to resurrect, it really doesn't want to play though. I'm nearly there but now its started splitting hoses. yesterday the pump to carb pipe split today the coolant hose under carbs split. They are all a bit elderly and perished. To save whats left of my sanity anyone know of a set or cutting list for pipes so I can replace the lot in one go? IT's that or kick it over and set fire to it..
Even just an original tag A7338. I just like to have all the little bits that were supplied with the bike. I know I can get a key cut by several methods would just like the silly little metal tag. Lots of old and knackered Fazers around now, I believe there are only a few different keys.
I want to fit a single headlight and the ignition switch is in my way so I have taken it off. I'm also going to zap off the aluminium circle and bits that I don't need with my angle grinder.
I need to wire up a new switch that will incorporate the starter as well, so I can throw the right hand switch gear in the bin.
Anyone got any advice on that?
I also am fitting renthal 789's to the bike which I am guessing will need longer throttle cables and clutch cables too? I think I can buy a unbiversal kit and make my own carn't I? Putting a few wire extensions into the left hand switch gear should be no problem if needed.
Single headlight should hopefully be easy to wire up. Do I just forget about the other headlight feed and leave it blank on the bike?
The origonal speedo is huge and I want to replace it with a 48mm cable driven one I have. So I have got a thundercat speedo drive but that has different internals, how can I marry the fazer internals with the Thundercat internals? Do I just cut off what I want and use my soldering iron to melt them together? Or if I buy a lot of fizzy drinks would the plastic from the bottle tops be about right and I could just melt that into the thundercat speedo and shape it so it fits into the holes?
Yes I know that I have lost my steering lock, so I am going to weld a couple of tabs to the bottom yolk and the frame so I can put a padlock through it when I am away from the bike. Or is there a better solution?
My nearside indicators flash very fast now and again but not all the time they are not led bulbs. And the offside are fine any ideas would be great as I've got mot soon.

MOT advisory.. new tyres required before next MOT.
Chain has some exterior salt corrosion
The bike has been ridden through the winter so expect normal minor corrosion to hardware, front of engine block.
The dust seals on the shocks could do with replacing.
