  Aftermarket levers
Posted by: Triggergee - 18-07-18, 04:05 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (20)

just wanted to know other people's opinions on the very different pricing for aftermarket levers, do I go for the expensive £100 a lever  :eek  asv levers which I'm sure must be quality or the cheap Chinese levers which look pretty much the same but are under £20 a pair! Or others at around £60 a pair... such a massive difference for what I suppose is just a small piece of milled metal but saying that you wouldn't want your brake lever to snap or fall off going into a bend of summat. Anyone got either cheap or expensive ones or have any input?

hi all.
Well I’ve managed to snap the heads off of  a couple of my exup housing bolts and most of the thread is left in the housing.
For those who have been there or who know what I need to do now, what do I do now, help!!!! :'(

  Noise

I've waited long enough now so it's eventually time to ask for your font of knowledge.

There's a noise coming from my bike that I can't even fathom out whereabouts it's even from yet due to added wind noise?

Best description is a whirring sound which seems to go along with the engine speed, most noticeable when I shut off the throttle and let the bike slow down with the engine. Imagine clicking a cable tie really quickly but it's constant.

Thing is, it only goes away when I pull the clutch in.

So that rules out anything to do with the wheels or wheel bearings.
It doesn't go away either if I use one or both brakes, it just slows the noise down, but as soon as the clutch is pulled in it's gone.

It sounds a bit too loud to me to be a vibration thing, although I've not completely ruled that out yet, but from what I can guess I don't think it's coming from the rear of the bike.
And pulling the clutch in doesn't stop the chain from moving so it can't be that either.

Any thoughts or ideas welcome, as firstly it's annoying the hell out of me, and secondly, something's obviously not right at all is it?

Cheers, D.

  2002 FZS1000 SOLD
Posted by: Triggergee - 16-07-18, 12:47 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (8)

For sale is a 2002 Fzs1000 with 30k miles and MOT'd until April 2019. £1850

Extras include: Bagster tank cover, SP engineering exhaust, Devilsyam R6 shock mod, custom Tony Archer seat, 4 degree ignition avancer, R1 gear linkage, heated grips, Renthals 755 bars, crash bungs, Sport attack 3 tyres (1500miles), LED instrument/display lights, gear indicator, rear hugger, smoked taillight, load horn, additional LED daytime running lights, double bubble tinted screen, one down front sprocket and R&G racing bar ends. I've also got another new fuel tank to throw in with it (previous seller bought it for some reason), a smaller sport screen and the original screen and the standard sprocket.

Rode this biked to Spain this summer and it didn't miss a beat, a fantastic bike with pretty much all you need already on there, I'm only selling as I've bought another FZS1000 which is slightly newer and is black and red as I have a thing for this colour combo... located in Bristol
