  Service: Carburetor Refurbishment - FZS600 & 1000
Posted by: RMT1983 - 17-04-24, 11:02 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

As per the title really, I've started refurbing carburettors for guys in the Facebook forums for fazers and other bikes so thought I'd post on here too.

£100 starting price which includes the stripping and ultrasonic cleaning of the carbs as well as the rebuild.

All parts required are + the cost above and can be discussed prior to refurb if you already know what you want/require or wait until they have been stripped to see where any problems are hiding.

I'm also going to look at the possibility of ivanising (1000 only) the carbs too if there is enough interest?

Gen 1 Exhaust header rear mounting bracket?
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 16-04-24, 08:13 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

? I have noticed a number of mechanics doing M.O.Ts put a trolley jack under the collector box to get the front wheel off the ground to check the front wheel bearings, forks etc for play.  If this is a common practice it could be the reason so many of the rear collector box brackets fractures?  I always push the back of the seat down to allow these items to be checked. What do you think?

  ais removal kits?
Posted by: balti - 12-04-24, 08:41 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

Just doing some spring cleaning on the bike today and came to swap the plugs and was reminded what a ballache working around that monstrosity of an a.i.s system is. I hate it and would like to remove it for good. This is my second fazer thou, on the first one i pulled it out and ended up tapping the spigot's and plugging them with bolts, but doing the 2 outside cylinders was an ordeal as you can't get a tap holder into such a tight space; it took hours of turning a tap with a tiny spanner 1/8th of a turn at a time. I Have zero desire to do this ever again. l
Long story short does anyone know of any kits with the caps that go over the top of the spigot's that can be sourced in the uk, or anyone have a such a thing in their spare parts box they'd be willing to part ways with. The only proper kit i can find is the holeshot one which i'd like to avoid as it's a long 'ol trip from the states to yorkshire for the postman and i'm sure hmrc would be demanding some import taxes aswell...

Carburetor maintenance kits for Gen 1
Posted by: dueruote - 12-04-24, 07:08 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (15)

HI all, I'm looking to find a good quality maintenance kit for the carburetors. I'm talking only about the floater valves, o-rings, etc.
OEM parts are prohibitively expensive, but on the other hand I want to avoid cheap Chinese knock offs like from AliExpress and others.
Any suggestions ?

  FZ6 '05 Speedometer wiring
Posted by: davidk - 11-04-24, 01:04 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hey guys, I need help with my FZ6 speedometer wiring... After accident, speedo broke off, and now I'm left with whole wiring and working speedo but snapped wires from their place.
Nowhere on the internet was I able to find back side of speedo (motherboard) with wires in exact places, so if anyone has picture of their own, or can help in any way that would be very welcome Smile

I can provide pictures if needed.

Thanks in advance!

  Wanted: Front engine mount bolts
Posted by: Greefy67 - 09-04-24, 02:04 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Bit of a long shot.
I'm currently stripping my boxeye down to component parts before I rebuild it all pretty.
But it has the biggest crash bungs I've ever seen.
The look made specifically for the bike as they have shaped mount plates, which is nice.
But the bolts holding them on are far to long without the bungs fitted.
so they foul the oil filter.
Anyone got some kicking about?
