In June last year one of our members was attacked at work leaving him with life changing injuries and unable to ever ride a motorbike again (or possibly even work again) though he still polishes his FZS600 semi-regularly. In an effort to repay the people who helped him following that attack, he is doing a 75 mile bike ride on the back of a tandem to raise some money.

Dig deep and sponsor him please.

Is it worth replacing the FZ6 OEM Forks with R6 Forks?
Posted by: Grahamm - 14-05-24, 12:03 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (4)

If you find that the OEM FZ6 forks are a bit soft and don't give much feedback or control in the bends, here's a video that someone posted on YouTube when they upgraded the OEM FZ6 forks with R6 ones.

Ohlins YA-009 rear shock for fz1: fitment
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 11-05-24, 06:55 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

So this was the only place I could fit the pre-load adjuster and even then it was a tight fight. routing the braided hose from the shock to the adjuster was also a pain, I had to route it under the ABS unit, between the unit and the protective plastic splash cover.

Can I ask if anyone else has fitted an ohlins to their FZ1 and do they have photos..?

Backpack recommendations - big enough to put a helmet inside.
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 09-05-24, 09:01 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Before I get on the phone to Infinitiy, Sportsbikeshop etc, I thought I would check on here and see if anyone suggest a backpack that you can fit a helmet inside..? Im guessing 30L or bigger. Budget is £100 and it would be handy if it has zippable side pockets.

My old Hien Gericke backpack was a 31L and I could just about fit a helmet inside.

Front sprocket washer parts picture/parts number
Posted by: tnfazer - 06-05-24, 10:48 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Hi all,

My Scottoiler seems to have been blocked so now my original chain and sprockets have come to the end of their service life after 55,000 km. I've been leafing through Yamaha online parts catalog for an hour, but can't find the image/list that would have the front sprocket and the safety washer that goes under it. Can anyone point me to the right parts picture (numbered 1-46) or to a correct parts number?

I know I'm a bit too fussy, but the Yamaha repair manual says the washer needs to be replaced after sprocket change and I am now at an age where I start replace riding time with fussying time.
