Morning,hope everyone is well,I got my 2000 yamaha fazer 600 very wet whilst out and the day after whilst riding I noticed the revs dropping from 5000 to 0 then back up to 5000,i replaced a dodgy double headlight conversion wiring with a proper plug thinking thatveas the cause but no luck,I did the unplug and plug in tps technique and it went to 10000 and will not adjust down to the usual 5000,the bike is fine on tickover and runs normal with no surging or flat spots,with the ignition on and the tps unplugged the revs jump 0 to 3000 then 0 and 3000 repeating ,I bought a new tps and it had the bike still had same symptoms ,I bench tested the new tps with a meter ,no reading between the outside two pins but either one of the outside and the center pin I got a reading of 5.9 but this didn't alter when I turned the tps as if it was the throttle twisting ,my old tps had no readings at all,basically was the new tps dodgy or am I looking at another problem that isn't tps related?,apologies for the long thread

Was looking at Getting Crash bars for a FZS600 2000 model. Any recommendations for where to source some decent ones. Was gonna put sliders on but apparently they aren't even nearly as good for protection. Has any used the German company , Heed I think it is. They do bars for just over 100 euro but theres no decent photos of them

Afternoon chaps.
I've got a 2000 FZS600 and the 3rd cylinder simply refuses to fire.
What I've done so far is fresh spark plugs, some used but working OEM coils with caps, I've had the carbs off and cleaned all the jets (3rd carb was actually blocked so I thought I'd solved the problem but nope) a compression test (with throttle fully open) and all 4 cylinders are within a couple of PSI to each other at around 175 which from my research is perfectly healthy.
I've cleaned all the connections that I know of and have located from the battery all the way to the plug caps.
I've tried petrol down the cylinder just to see if it would fire at all.
I've tested the spark on cylinder 3 coil/plug and it's not the biggest and strongest spark I've ever seen but in my opinion it's strong enough to at least ignite the cylinder especially with a drop of fresh fuel.
The carbs are definitely getting fuel as is the cylinder because the carb bowls were all full after the rebuild and test.
I really can't think of anything else.
I don't really have the spare cash at the moment to put it into a garage but I'm also wanting to try and fix it myself to learn as I go.
The only thing I haven't changed is the battery and it is a bit on the dodgy side having been run dead previously but after a good charge it fires all the other cylinders within a second or two of pressing the button.
Is it possible that could be the culprit and it's only effecting a single coil wire/plug cap?
I'm really wanting to get back on the road as a friends just got back into biking as well as my Mrs wanting to go out for rides as pillion.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Hi, good to belong to the owners club!
I bought my 2007 FZ6 S2 as my first bike after passing my test some years ago.
Often looked at alternatives but personally don't see anything coming close.
I know tech has moved on considerably but the comfort, speed, reliability and exhilaration of that in-line 4 is hard to beat!
Anyway! I am looking for tail storage for smaller trips. I want something that is accessible whilst situated on the bike (which I think rules out the wrap around option), easy to install and remove.
Wondered what experience there is out there on the best choice.

Hi All,
I hope that I find you as well and as happy as you can be!
So, my Speedo packed up, along with mt Odo and I assumed that it was the usual problem of the Speedo Sensor rotor.
As I was a bit short on time I got my trusty bike guy to fit a replacement.
He did this and found that one lug had broken off of the old one.
Upon road testing my bike the speedo initially worked but when he took it on a more extensive test it failed again.
Something else that I noticed recently is that my fuel gauge has been glitching up and down.
He has suggested that it could possibly be the clock (circuit board) on the way out and the most economical way forward could be to get some second hand ones instead of racking up labour costs fault finding.
Has anyone had a similar thing?
I have the bike back for the moment as I need it for comuting and my bike guy is stacked out with other work and can't fit me in for a while anyway.
Making do with a speedo on my mobile phone for a moment as a guide.
I plan to take a look and make sure that the new rotor is ok and hasn't failed as this seems the most obvious thing to start with.
Has anyone got any other fault finding tips that I can try?
