  Starter motor link gear cover
Posted by: Kenny Dave - 02-10-11, 11:41 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

I'm after one of these... I'm sure there's a proper name, but this is what I've decided to call it Wink I mean the cover on the engine on the right hand side, the one furthest forward that covers the gears that link the crankshaft to the starter motor.

If you've got one... price me up, ta.

I've seen a couple of posts linking to sites with Fazer service manuals. Please be aware that these manuals are already on our site under the Downloads menu item - thanks to John Silva for assembling and uploading them all.

This site has been set up so that everyone can update it and that includes the documents section so if you have anything to share please feel free to add it Smile

  Hard links and soft links?
Posted by: Bracechenko - 02-10-11, 07:38 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Had a nightmare today helping a mate fit a new Renthal chain to his CBR600F. Everything was going really well, grinded the old chain off, sprocket nuts came loose nicely....it was all too easy  :\

Well, my smugness was short lived as when we were  trying to mushroom the rivet link with my chain tool it was just not happening. I noticed that the pins were not hollow so there was no way of guiding the chain tool in.

Also, the force we were using was ridiculous and there was no change in shape. A quick Google later and I discover that there are also hard links rather than the soft link i expected.

How the hell are you meant to fit these then!?! We're going to see if we can order a soft link instead, it's  Renthal R4 SRS 525 chain so fingers crossed. I've had to lend him my FZS600 to get him back home as he lives 45 miles away.

Have any of you experienced this?

  Hi Guys & Girls
Posted by: Tefer - 02-10-11, 06:59 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

I have just bought a W Reg Fazer in Gold with 24000 miles on the clock.

Anyone got any worthwhile mods for it, i have been told to look out for the rear brake as it can become gummed up and needs cleaned a lot. Not impressed with the headlight, i have the square version and not foxeye, any good ideas on that, i have seen some with both lights wired up also not sure if some better bulbs would help.

Anyway, any help and advice would be good.

Thanks

Big Thanks to those that voted for me last month and congratulations to Biffa Bob  Smile

It's very nice of you Bob to let me choose the October Topic .. I think  :\
However .. it's not so easy to come up something that fits such an interesting part of the groups on-line activities.

So .. for the October event .. lets have your very best efforts on:  Encounters with Wildlife.

Good Luck .... Stay Safe  Wink    Polar Bear
