As some of you know from a thread further down the page I had my chain and sprockets changed last week, since then I've noticed that I don't have the same insane accelleration in lower gears that I had before and that where 70mph was always 6000 rpm it's now 5500 rpm.
I'm assuming that the bike has had either a bigger front sprocket, bigger rear or both fitted. I've spoken the the garage that did the work and they said they just took the old ones off and put news ones on and didn't compare. The chain is a DID chain and the sprockets are not Yamaha, just ones my local garage picked for the bike, when I spoke to them I asked if they were the correct ones for my bike and they said yes (I see no reason why they would lie) They did offer to change them if there was a problem.
I'm guessing that the sprockets they took off we not correct and were geared lower.
Should I be concerned? It's a shame I'm not as quick when it comes to nipping round vehicles but I'm hardly slow.
Could this sprocket change affect anything else on the bike?
Is 5500rpm what everyone elses' bike is doing (using standard sprocket) at 70mph?
Cheers

TV SURROUND SOUND QUESTION??? |

I want to add surround sound speakers to my SAMSUNG DTV.
Now I have only just mastered turning it on and off so the instructions below are beyond my thick fingered capabilities.
Can I buy just any old surround system and just plug it in??? :eek
DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL)
xxWhen a digital audio system is connected to the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) jack, decrease the volume
of both the TV and the system.
xx 5.1 CH (channel) audio is available when the TV is connected to an external device supporting 5.1 CH.
xxWhen the receiver (home theatre) is set to on, you can hear sound output from the TV’s optical jack. When the
TV is receiving a DTV signal, the TV will send 5.1 CH sound to the home theatre receiver. When the source is
a digital component such as a DVD / Blu-ray player / cable box / STB (Set-Top-Box) satellite receiver and is
connected to the TV via HDMI, only 2 CH audio will be heard from the home theatre receiver. If you want to
hear 5.1 CH audio, connect the digital audio out jack from your DVD / Blu-ray player / cable box / STB satellite
receiver directly to an amplifier or home theatre.

Rough running in low rpm's |

I got this ´98 model fzs600 that I bought a couple of months ago. It has been crashed and is not very pretty but basically runs fine. The idle is i bit rough though. It surges maybe 2-300 rpm up and down. Also when riding in slow traffic in 1st and 2nd gear the bike "jumps" a bit. It's really annoying as my daily commute is in heavy traffic.
I have done a bit of work to solve the problem, but no luck. I have tried the following:
Changed plugs to NGK iridium
Changed the plug caps to NGK
Changed the air filter element
Cleaned the carbs
Synced the carbs
Adjusted the throttle sensor
After changing the exhaust to a set of Motad downpipes and Viper end can I also tried to richen the idle mixture by turning the mixture screws out a few turns.
All of this has had no effect on the problem. Also the problem have been the same with original and aftermarket exhaust.
Whats the next move???
When cleaning the carbs I also checked the camchain adjuster. It's on its final notch and I have a rattling sound especially when the engine is cold, so I need a new camchain. Can I exchange it without taking of the top. And what about the camchain guides?
Thanks,
Mads
(Excuse my English language, I'm from Denmark)
