  Fairing repair recommendation in London
Posted by: brianjonze - 07-06-12, 10:39 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Unfortunately my bike was knocked over outside my place the other week, breaking one side of the fairing.. I dont think any sections are missing or have broken off so I think it should repair alright. I have had a quote from a very good repair place near me for 250 or so, but I think there are cheaper places around who do decent work - can anyone recommend somewhere?

Thanks!

  Help me gauge tyre life!
Posted by: spoonman - 07-06-12, 10:36 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Got a big trip coming up, probably 2000 miles. I'm putting a new rear on but I'm unsure about the front. It is a Bridgestone Battlax BT020, I don't know what the current mileage on it is.
It has about 1mm to go on wear indicators. Tread depth is 2mm in centre, 3mm one third from centre and 3.5mm two thirds from centre.
I believe tread depth is 4mm all round new, total life expectancy is about 10k miles so by my logic I should be able to get another 2k out of it ok?

gen 1 thou clutch cable, free
Posted by: bludclot - 06-06-12, 08:40 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

slinky glide clutch cable. i bought it new and fitted it recently, but after only 300 miles bit the bullet and bought a genuine yamaha cable.

i don't rate it very highly, but if somebody wants it i'll post it for free. otherwise it's another landfil item.

  M.O.T Questionn :)
Posted by: Kinggy - 06-06-12, 08:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Anyone know if my fazer needs sidelights to pass mot ??  Don't think they've ever worked since i've had the bike and this is the first mot i'm giving her.. I have working headlights ( low & High beam ) And there's obviosly no parking lights involved so in my opinion I don't see why I should need them but obviously I don't have a clue :/

Any Ideas ??

Does anybody know what the reference numbers are for the front side light bulbs. I have a Gen 1 and can confirm they are the push fit type. Thanks

  Possible issue or just paranoid?
Posted by: Fazer Jake - 06-06-12, 06:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

On startup my downpipes 3 & 4 seem to heat up ALOT faster than 1 & 2 i can't hear any blowing of any sort and i've only recently changed the plugs.

Is this normal or would it suggest carbs balanced? Bike runs find and seems to jump 100-200rpm on idle.
