  24 hr LeMans
Posted by: shady - 06-06-12, 06:26 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Well not long since back from an epic journey starting with a 24 hrs ferry to Santander, south past Madrid to Torrevieja (mates villa) up through the Pyrenees, France where l just had to call in on the 24hr LeMans circuit. You could feel the motorsport heritage there but l didn t have a lot of time spare as l continued north to Saint Lo northern France to visit my aunt/uncle, a few days later its the ferry home Cherbourg to Poole for a 300 mile trip north to Manchester  :eek Still the old Hornet went well, clocking up around 2300miles taking it to 63000 miles now. Seems to be dealing with age better than me !  :lol

I was riding home from my euro trip the other day through Winsford in Cheshire when set back from the road in a well to do area l spotted a red phone box. Nothing unusual about that you think  :rolleyes well take a look at the pic attached (if l've uploaded it right). Bring a whole new meaning to looking for information, plenty of that in there but no actual phone !  :rollin

What changed in 2004/5 Fazer Thou's?
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 06-06-12, 01:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (17)

I've noticed on a few parts/accessory sites that they differentiate between 01-03 and 04-05 FZS1000's.  Why?

  Setting Pilot Air Screws
Posted by: Andy FZS - 06-06-12, 12:44 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

I changed my oil and filter yesterday and I thought I'd check the pilot air screws (2 1/2 turns out "03" model) the outer ones aren't to bad and the LHS inner one is awkward but does anyone have any good tips on how to get to the inner RHS one?

Cheers Andy

Hi,

I just picked up a very tidy FZS600, in red/black/white from 2002. Its the least rare bike I have ever owned, and I am really enjoying it!

I live in Pau, in the south of France. So if you are ever in the area and in need of a cup of tea give me a shout.

Cheers

Stephen

How to diagnose sticky brake piston?
Posted by: Jamieg285 - 06-06-12, 09:04 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

I'm new to bike mechanics, so am looking for some advice.

I've not ridden for a number of years and have had my Fazer for a couple of weeks now. To me it appears that the back brake is weak, and from reading on here out might have a sticky piston.

I want to know how I can confirm this, without having to strip it down too much. I need the bike to be useable, so can't take things apart unless I have the parts to put back again. If it's knackered and I need seals, pistons etc. I'd rather keep the money and put it toward a blue spot caliper.

Also, what's the average price for the caliper these days?
