A30 in Staines, on a roundabout. Somehow a moron tried to merge into my lane and clipped the back of my bike. Stayed upright and all he managed to do was smash half the number plate off, but I managed to put a decent ding in his passenger door with my shiny new Daytonas (No holes!). Cunt drove off without checking to see if he'd killed me. Had a bunch of Jesus fish on the back as well.
Got stopped by a plod once, but he was pretty understanding. There is an upside though, no plate meant I could blast along the south circular at 50...

Wind buffeting from standard screen! |

I have a 2002 fzs600 with standard screen. I am getting a lot of wind buffeting from the screen which is hard on the ears even with earplugs in especially when on motorways for long periods. The buffeting seems to be mostly around my neck and chin area, I noticed if I raise myself up a few inches it gets a lot quieter. Im 5ft 9 and my mate is 6ft 1 and also has a 2002 fazer, he says hes never had a problem with the wind buffeting and rarely feels the need for ear plugs.
Could a double bubble screen solve this for me?? I dont want to end up with tinnitus or whatever you call it. Any feedback appreciated!
Thanks

I just bought a metzeler roadtec z6 to match theback which had plenty of tread left. However after a bit of hard riding the back tyre has puncured and shreaded a bit. Being a bit tight I am looking to keep the z6 on the front, but I am being recomended by my mate to put a Pirelli Diablo on the back as they are from the same manufacturer rather than the metzeller z8....any one out there offer any advice

I`ve been getting insurance quotes for my gen1 1000 as its due in a couple of weeks and so far the cheapest is MCE. They have quoted £127 fully comp including breakdown cover. Does anyone know who MCE use as their breakdown and is it any good?

Exup Cable Repair (failed after 11 months) |

I posted last year (in the old forum so can't find that post) and mentioned how i had Venhill repair the exup cables by replacing the inner cable. Others cautioned that the repair wouldn't last as the "lugs" dont last due to the heat at the exup pulley.
Well, i got 11 months or so out of them, and then one of the lugs failed and the wire came out of the screw insert in the lug. So, while the guys at venhill can refurbish the cables at a fraction of the cost they don't seem to last.
Looks like i'm going to have to spend £130 on the yamaha items ....
