Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - Enceladus - 14-06-12 i'm thinking of getting an endcan for my bike (2001 fzs600) as soon as i can afford to replace the oem downpipes with stainless ones. really needs to be a bit quiet, especially at low revs (mainly for where i live and the times i need to leave for work). any suggestions ? Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - CRH - 14-06-12 whats wrong with the std end can?......dont come much quieter than that?? :rolleyes Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - Enceladus - 14-06-12 (14-06-12, 08:20 PM)CRH link Wrote: whats wrong with the std end can?......dont come much quieter than that?? :rolleyestrue .....but ...... it seems to hold the bike back a bit (or at least that's the impression i get. maybe just a mental thing) anyway, it's really only at low revs (say sub 5k) that i need it to be quiet ![]() Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - darrsi - 14-06-12 Was gonna suggest my one until i saw you write 'quiet'.........i think you're gonna have to move house......... :lol SP Engineering Exhaust on Fazer 600 Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - scottsmith1972 - 14-06-12 i bought a motad venom end can straight from supplier sounds great not to noisy has removable baffles if you want a bit of noise to Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - scottsmith1972 - 14-06-12 (14-06-12, 08:32 PM)darrsi link Wrote: Was gonna suggest my one until i saw you write 'quiet'.........i think you're gonna have to move house......... :lollike it alot how much was it Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - darrsi - 14-06-12 Think i paid a tenner less than they are now, mine's the Moto GP one. I had a little problem with the link pipe because my aftermarket down pipes are a different size to originals apparently, so i did a bit of improvisation, but it's all good now. I must say though, when i called SP Engineering about the issue they were extremely helpful on the phone trying to sort it out for me. By the way, the one in the video has the baffles removed, but trust me there really is no need, and it has a road legal BSAU stamp as well. (My bike is the black one towards the bottom of the "Show Me Your Fazer" post on page 8 if you want to see it side on) http://www.spengineering.co.uk/model-180-fzs-600-fazer.html Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - thesagaciousman - 16-06-12 There are new akrapovic race cans for 300 on eBay at the mo... No baffle, but I had a full race system on my blade, noise at low revs was quite reasonable. I never had any complaints or got pulled over for it. Just my 2pence worth. Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - Dead Eye - 16-06-12 I have a Beowulf Warrior on mine. Even with the baffle out its not offensive at lower revs. If you have the baffle in, the noise gets pushed up in to the higher rev range if i remember correctly. I had the baffle in the first day I had the can, needless to say, it hasn't been back in since ![]() In any case, if you want something that has the ability to be quiet, best thing to do is get something with a removable baffle. Don't annoy the neighbours in the weekday mornings and then piss off everyone on a sunny (lol jokes in the UK) Sunday afternoon ^^ Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - darrsi - 16-06-12 I also have an older Quill race can, with no BSAU or any markings at all on it, which i had on my bike previously, which had a beautiful rumble to it higher up the revs, but was relatively quiet at low revs. Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - scottyboy2203 - 18-06-12 is there any reason (other than mounting and link pipe fitting) that you couldn't fit an exhaust end can from another bike? I have seen a few 2nd hand scorion/arrow etc end cans going for good money but listed for other bike makes and models. Ideally I dont want to have to re-jet or anything (or spend alot of cash!) Re: Exhaust Replacement - End Can ? - darrsi - 18-06-12 Some cans need re-jetting, others supposedly do not. As you say, link pipes can be an issue, but i s'pose an exhaust is an exhaust so don't see why not? Do some Googling to see if the can in mind has been used on a Fazer before though. |
