balancing carbs, funny(ish) story |

I balanced the carbs last week and found out in the process that my fan does indeed work and cuts in fine when the engine is hot, how do I know?
There I was, head burried in the engine trying to get the screwdriver on the balencing screw (for the umpteenth time that morning) and all of a sudden...VRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, :eek there was that initial reaction of jumping out of my skin, leaping away from the bike thinking "F*CK what have I touched" before I then realised the fan had cut in as it's supposed to! :rolleyes :rollin

Bleeding the front brake: lever distance from the bar |

Got a question regarding my bandit 600 (commuter, the thou only comes out on nice days) -
Recently serviced the front callipers, replaced all the seals and flush the system through with new fluid. The only remaining issue that I cant seem to resolve is the brake lever-to-handle bar distance, in that its coming back too far to the handle before the brakes are applied. But that said when the brake are applied they work well and as expected. Also I have braided hoses fitted.
I have done the cable tie-overnight trick now several times so if there was any air in the system its gotta be bleed out by now.. I even swapped the master cylinder over with a spare one off my fazer 1000 and the same thing is happening.
So does this mean the seals in bandit and Fazer MC's need changing..? as its the only thing left to change I can think of...

Hi all,
Just went for a little blat to Bristol and back while the weather was k, and noticed that my trip meter is measuring in KMs not miles. Does this mean that the bike's mileage is not 42,000 miles, but 42,000 KM? ('98 FZS600)
Apologies for sounding thick, but I'm a bit thick 8)

Fazer 400 New Clutch? |

Hey guys, i bought myself a little 1997 fazer 400 as my first inline 4 last week and i love it!! everything was fine until i filled it up with too much oil. I drained the oil a little bit after 1 day of use and topped it up a little. Ever since over spilling i notice the slutch slipping slightly in gear 3.
Is this a coincidence or would it be normal for a clutch to slip after over filling with engine oil?
Cheers guys

Cornering confusion... |

Hi all, Now summer is upon us (well, for a few days) I have been riding the little Fazer quite hard.
However, over the last few days, one or two issues became apparent when exiting corners...
1) on tight corners, upon exiting, the front lifts slightly, and feels to be 'skipping' whilst the bike is still slightly leant over
2) on smooth, fast corners/bends, the rear feels to be slipping/sliding all over the place.
I have played with preload etc, and tried adjusting the bars (got renthal 'superbike low' bars) and I've tried adjusting fork height within the yokes, to no avail.
Has anyone else experienced this, and are there any recommended modifications?
